While, the production department can use SMS less professionally for internal use, only among employees. In contrary, the design department may use SMS to advertise for the products in an attempt to encourage customers to use the company’s services. The production department, likewise, will get benefits from SN through private boards and get feedbacks from sales department about customers’ reaction to the products. SN is the perfect field that design department would like to advertise the company’s products to the public and work toward expanding the company’s network and build contacts internationally. It is preferable, with SN, to exclude the accounting department from using social media, except for message boards, as mentioned earlier, for security reasons. However, human resources department will find SN of especial benefit for it enables the company to post general announcements and job vacancies much easier and faster way. In addition, the department will need to look at LinkedIn for potential employees. In the same way, administration department and executive management could get benefit from SN in one way or another as mentioned in previous sections of blogs and message
Forty-one years ago on April 7, 1973, Motorola engineer Martin Cooper changed the world by making the world’s first cell phone call. With a 10-inch-long, 2.5-pound phone nicknamed “the brick” he called his engineering nemesis at the much bigger company Bell Labs (Here& Now, 2014). The phone gave 30 minutes of talk time after 10 hours of recharging and it cost a grand total of $3995. In those days, the average middle-class person could not afford to buy a mobile phone. By the late 1990s, cell phones became progressively accessible to the overall population. (Ef.org.vt.edu, 2014). Ever since then the sizes and the technologies in and of cell phones has been changing to accommodate the masses. Decades later, cell phones, and now smartphones, live in the pocket or purse of nearly everyone in the United States. Cell phones tell us the time, give us directions, take pictures, entertain us and help us exercise, all while making it possible to post each and every sordid detail to the internet without going anywhere near a computer. These new devices however convenient also bring complications along with them. This research paper will delved into the advantages and disadvantages of a cell phone, visit the health risk and factors affecting people who are exposed to cell phones, Discuss how cell phones have changed our way of communicating and socializing with one another, outline preventative measures surrounding the way cell phones have degraded our way of life and expound on the Thesis: Though cellular phones have provided many advantages since inception their cause more harm than their benefits they are worth.
Many people in today’s society rely on technology to help us with our daily lives and help us stay connected to family, friends, and other people. The advancements in today’s cell phone technology is very complex and made to be efficient for their owners, allowing them to surf the net and IM message people instantly. Cellphones in particular have developed very fast in the past 15 years. From my childhood, cell phones have evolved from the old school Nokia bricks that allowed texts, calls, and simple graphic games, to todays I-Phones that have higher computable capabilities than some computers. In the United States alone, there is an estimated population of around 297 million people, and 197 million people are subscribed to cell phone companies (Starr). With so many people in today’s society with so much power and opportunity in the palm of their hands, we shouldn’t forget that “With great power comes great responsibility” –Voltaire.
We discussed earlier how doctors are able to explain and show you exactly what is wrong with you and be able to communicate with you around the world with mobile devices. Lets go into that subject a litter deeper now. Like explained earlier with multiple applications available provide a 3-D view of a human body. The healthcare professional is able to zoom in, and explain in detail what is happening to your body. Patients located in the state of Ohio would be able to communicate securely with a nurse, primary care doctor, or other specialty at the Cleveland Clinic using the tele-health technology service. No specific software or hardware is needed for this particular system. Only mobile devices and the MyCare Online app is needed to connect patients to a healthcare provider (Gruessner 2015). Cleveland Clinic is one of the leading hospitals to implement mobile technology in it’s entire healthcare system. This is incredibly important for patients who need to be able to contact a healthcare professional at anytime.

The telephone is one of the greatest inventions of all time. Without a telephone, life as we know it today, would be much more difficult and time consuming. Some of life’s activities might even be impossible. Talking to loved ones that live far away, changing work schedules, making appointments to have the utilities turned on in our homes, paying the bills, and calling 911 are all actions that can be completed in the blink of an eye, by using a telephone. Ironically, improved communication, the biggest asset to having a phone has been significantly destroyed by the use of the newest technologically advanced cell phones. Furthermore, despite all of the wonderful benefits there are to having a telephone, the transformation and advanced technology of the new and improved “smart” mobile phone has created a world geared toward speed and quantity; while on the other hand promoting haste, less than acceptable customer service, dreadful family relationships, impatience, poor spelling, and memory problems.
The effects of technology on society will always be a double edged sword. The debate is a never ending one, in which both sides have valid and compelling arguments. The Industrial Revolution reduced manual labor in the long run, but had negative consequences such as child labor and sweatshop conditions. Nuclear Power reduces the cost of producing energy, but raises serious environmental issues like pollution and radiation. In this day in age refusing to assimilate to at least some form of modern living is simply not an option. One invention causing controversy today that has yet to cease being alter, modified, and “improved” since its debut is the ever present cell phone.
Keywords: communication, organization, teams, virtual meetings Virtual Team Overview As companies expand globally, the use of Internet and web conferencing is growing significantly in order to conduct business. Virtual teams are more common in the workplace as businesses are not meeting face-to-face in order to maximize production. Employees are also in agreement that being virtual can make communication with their partners across the globe easier as well as continuing to be efficient in their roles.
Since 2008, the smartphone, a device that combines a normal cell phone with a computer, typically offering Internet access, data storage, e-mail capability, etc. all in your hand was deemed as ground-breaking technology and created one of the largest and most competitive markets in terms of technology to date. Their increased popularity continued to grow and today, it is very hard to encounter someone without a smartphone. These devices allow people to disconnect from reality and grant them access to the world as a whole. People use these devices to manage their daily routine, dictating what they should do and when they should do it.
The integration of a variety of information systems into business operations is necessary for growth in the dynamic business environment. These information systems can be minimized and fixed into mobile devices such as smartphones. The use of smartphones can play an important role in supporting business processes and operations, developing strategies for competitive advantage and decision making. These smartphones allow employees to be linked to the office, its data and resources, without being in the office. The use of smartphones for business processes can make the business more efficient and effective. They make it easier for co-workers to communicate among themselves and facilitates better communication between the business and its employees, customers, suppliers and even other businesses, and makes it possible in real-time. For CPS Energy and Lloyd’s Construction, although they were doing well, they realised that they could do much better. They needed to find new ways to further cut costs and maximize profitability. They both decided that the best way to do that was through the introduction of smartphones in their business operation.
Following the invention of modern technology, smartphone technology is evolving and changing our lives these days. The first concept of the smartphone was introduced in 1992 by BMI. Since then, this new invention has marked a great milestone to the society. Clearly, smartphones were invented because people wanted their mobile phones to have more Internet capabilities. Many software companies such as Apple, Samsung, and Microsoft have also developed this technology and made it better and better. Due to the advance of smartphone technology, human lives become easier and more convenient. Therefore, according to Pew Research, “half of American adults own a smart phone and that the rate of ownership is expanding quickly”. This number indicates that
In today’s world the vast majority of the population owns a cell phone. Cell phones are a huge part of people’s everyday lives. Since the 1940’s when mobile phones became available for automobiles, phone companies have made huge strides in making mobile phones more efficient, much smaller, and more available for anyone to use. There was a time where only people of wealth had these types of mobile phones. Now people from all social classes own a cell phone. They are extremely convenient and have the ability to do just about anything you can think of. There is an “app” for everything. You can make phone calls, text message, surf the web, pay your bills, read books, catch up on social media, and even listen to you music all from one small handheld device. Cell phones play a huge role in today’s economy. Businesses such as AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint have become huge public corporations with large stakes in the stock market. Between these companies among several other phone companies they have created millions of jobs and opportunities. Cell phone companies have now created what are known as “smart phones”. These phones are typically slim and sleek and have countless versatile abilities. However, cell phones have not always been so “smart” or small for that matter.

Despite the short amount of time since the introduction of the smartphone, the rapid development of the software and technology has had a tremendous effect on the everyday life in society today. The concept of communicating through a telephone was developed in the 1870s. Devices to transmit speech electrically were designed by Elisha Gray and Alexander Graham Bell, but Bell's design was patented first. On March 10, 1876, Alexander Graham Bell achieved one of his greatest successes in the making of the telephone. This brought upon a major change in communication and gave leeway to the improvement of the telephone in the days to come (Bellis, 2013b). During the 20th century there were many innovations regarding the telephone. In 1973, the first call from a portable phone was made Martin Cooper, who was a Motorola researcher and executive at the time. Since its inception, the advancement of cell phones has been exponential (Bellis, 2013a). As a result, cell phones have changed how society works in today's world. Many people lack the insight of how cell phones, or in this case, smart phones, affect the people that use them. So the question is, how is the evolution of smart phones impacting our society?
Fax, e-mail, teleconferencing and video conferencing, and voice messages are all forms of electronic communications that are essential. It would be impossible to operate a competitive business without such means of communication in today's fast paced, global, and technologically advanced business environment. It takes training to use these impersonal ways of communication correctly to build lasting relationships that are key to success in any business field.
Technology has shaped the work of management in three primary formats including advanced communications, cost management, and security. Since the adaptation of email in the workplace, the advancements in communication technology has skyrocketed with multiple forms of communication, including audio and video communication. This style of management communication does wonders for businesses because of the immediate response times. Having communication between partners across the street or across the globe can
