LCD
A liquid crystal display (LCD) is an optical device which is design into thin and flate panel this panel which is made up of a colour (or it can be a monochrome). Pixels filed with liquid crystals and a organized ahead of light source or reflector.
LCD develop the modern display technology because it compactness and flexibility. Now adays LCDs are used in many of the electronic appliances such as televisions , watches computers , laptops , mobile phones etc. the main and vital thing of the display is its liquid crystal coating or covering which is placed (sandwitched) between two polarized glasses.
Depending on the configuration of LCD THEY ARE AVAILABLE in different shapes and sizes . a 16*2 LCD means that it has mostly 2 rows and 16

they are also used in digital cameras .monitors and screen of laptops also make use of LCDs .they are also used in flat panel television . they are also used in portable electronic games .
BENEFITS OF LCDs
They have low cost and they are portable . they can be fabricated in a small area. They consume very less power. They display perfectly sharpe image with the natural rsolution of the panel .they give a large intensity of light whioch produes very bright images . there screens are flat perfectly . consme a little power and produces a little heat.
PINS OF LCD
All LCDs have same 14 pins (0-13) or 16 pins (0-15). All LCDS

RS=0 selects command register.
RS=1 select data register
RW(read – write)
To read data from lcd RW=1
To write data to lcd RW=0
EN(unable)
When we select any of the register (command or data register) and set RW Then instruction is executed .instruction means the 8 bit data or command on data lines of liquid crystal display LCD and additional voltages is used for this to execute the instruction and the additional voltage is given to the lcd in the shape of EN SIGNAL SO TO EXECute the instruction then make EN=1 FOR SOME MILLISECONDS. And then we make it again EN=0 or ground. It should be noted that the data which we send to lcd may be in 1 of the following form
1 alphabets
2 digits
3 ASCII character
It must also be noted that lcd is used to display characters only hence it cannot be used to display an integer or floting poit number. The 8 data pins of the lcd carry only 8 bit ASCII code of the particular character of lcd . but we can also convert our data into character type carry array and can send them one by one to the lcd. Data is send to lcd using the following two modes
1 4 bit mode
2 8 bit mode
4-BIT

These devices are attached to the motherboard through different connections. The output devices like monitors and printers can be used by a file server to show different files or print hard copies of files. These devices take the data from the computer and put it into a format that users can read and understand. I would like to take a moment here and go over the different kinds of monitors that a person can use as an output device. The first is the regular CRT monitors are heavy and use a lot of electric power to display objects, but are preferred by graphical artist for the color rendition. Then there are the flat panel monitors, which can use liquid Crystal Display (LCD) or a plasma display. These displays use electronically at each pixel to control the color. The input devices like a keyboards and a mouse. These inputs take the movements from the users and turn it into data that the computer can understand. (Beach,
The oldest form of oscilloscope, still used in some labs today, is known as the cathode-ray oscilloscope. It produces an image by the focused electron beam to travel in patterns across the face of cathode ray tube (CRT). More modern oscilloscopes electronically replicate the action of the CRT using a liquid crystal display (liquid crystal display) like the one that can be found on notebook computers screen.
Printer – A printer is used to print different images from the computer that you want to, this could be important sop the user can print the image that they have created and they can scan it onto different hardware and make different items with this graphical image.
There are three major types of displays used in Augmented Reality: head mounted displays (HMD), handheld displays and spatial displays. HMD is a display device worn on the head or as part of a helmet and that places computer generated images (CGI) over the real and virtual environment of the user’s view. This is accomplished by projecting CGI through a partially reflective mirror on the lens of the HMD, thus allowing the user to viewing the real world and at the same time see the augmented world too.
Also it is used in many other areas such as toaster, microwave oven, handwriting recognation, helicopter flight control system, etc. (Ural, 2006). Application areas are getting more more by the time.
Besides a range of glasses PC also gave people other opportunities: car headlights, projection screens, helmets and visors, CDs, (CDs...

Some systems use a conventional computer monitor to display the visual world. This sometimes called Desktop VR or a Window on a World (WoW). This concept traces its lineage back through the entire history of computer graphics. In 1965, Ivan Sutherland laid out a research program for computer graphics in a paper called "The Ultimate Display" that has driven the field for the past nearly thirty years.
The monitor is likely the most important part of the computer. Without it, you would have no idea what you were doing. Imagine trying to write a term paper, or surf the Internet without one. It would be impossible. While the technology powering the displays doesn’t change as fast as it does for other parts of the computer, there are advances which provide consumers with many choices for displays. Today, the most popular displays come in two types, Cathode Ray Tubes (CRTs) and Liquid Crystal Displays (LCDs). CRTs have been around longer, and are the most common due to the fact that they are cheaper. However the convenient size of LCDs along with falling prices has made them a popular choice as of late. This paper will examine the similarities and differences of the two, and try to determine if one is better than the other.
