Prominent philanthropist Adam Milstein has a calling; his charitable work centers strengthening the State of Israel and reinforcing the relationship between the United States and Israel. Frequently writing about the need to instill pride in the State of Israel, especially among the younger generation, Milstein believes community involvement and education are the key to forging a connection to Israel in today's youth.
Serving as the national chairman for the Israeli-American Council (IAC), a group he helped start, Milstein rallies the American Jewish community with youth groups and education about the Jewish state. The IAC coined the term Israeli American to gather former Israeli citizens who have settled in the U.S. permanently and give them a distinct identity.

Asher Lev and his mentor, Jacob Kahn illustrated a relationship of God’s creation and temptation from the devil. Throughout the novel, Kahn pushes Asher to devote his life to art, and describes it as “a tradition; it is a religion...It has it’s fanatics, and I will force [Asher] to master it” (Potok 213). Throughout Jewish texts, it is clearly stated that God’s people, whom Asher Lev belongs to in the novel, will face temptations from The Other Side that will lead them away from Him. As art is against Orthodox Jewish beliefs, another Jew persuading and encouraging Asher Lev to continue his passion of painting, can be a symbol of the devil in disguise. This is furthered, as Kahn introduced his pupil to many
Ron Mueck has a particular unique set of skills from the commercial world that he can apply to his art. The amount of surface detail Ron uses in his work brings the audience closer and personal to their feelings of emotions. This is achieved by the detail that he displays with scarps or cuts, the vein’s on a hand which causes the spectator to be mesmerized by the art. When you stare at his art for a long period of time, you will then begin to understand the beauty accompanied with the elegance of his style. Playing with scale, sets the audience up for an experience of an emotional shock that will mentally disrupt our understanding. Making a life size scale of someone or something seems to boring for Ron. The technique Ron uses is interesting in the sense that he creates these mannequins that are extremely hyperrealistic that when you are in the presence of one of them, you may believe that they are alive. Even know they could stand anywhere from 1 to 8 feet high.
The author uses word choice like, “good people” and “educators”, to make his theme stand out and that he wants us to have these traits. After he explains his experience of the Holocaust, Fred Gross tells the viewers how they could make a difference in any kind of situation. “What I would like you to be in general, is educators. Educators to make a difference. But to take part in areas to improve the lives of other people.”
Children fool around every day with parental supervision always there to catch the youth when they are at risk of vulnerability. Without parental supervision, they need to be self-conscious of their own well-being. Once a child becomes an adult, they learn to take their own path through life with no safety net and to take responsibility for their own actions, unlike Chris McCandless. The novel, Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer, exposes a cocky and arrogant, Chris McCandless, who is to blame for his own death, because he lives a life of taking risks, and depends on those that care for him to save him from the edge of disaster.

In todays society no one worries about their children being sold to a plantation hundreds of miles away. People do not stop to think about getting married the marriage be recognized by the government. As children complain about being forced to attend church, or complain about having to go to school everyday, slave children were not afforded these opportunities. For decades slaves were denied certain rights, which many of us take for granted. After the war former slaves worked to locate family members that had long been separated. As the former slaves struggled to get on their feet many returned to work for their former masters, this time as hired help. Taking a brief look in to the life of Jourdan Anderson, a man that valued his family above

Since the inception of an Israeli nation-state in 1948, violence and conflict has played a major role in Israel’s brief history. In the Sixty-One year’s Israel has been a recognized nation-state, they have fought in 6 interstate wars, 2 civil wars, and over 144 dyadic militarized interstate disputes (MIDs) with some display of military force against other states (Maoz 5). Israel has been involved in constant conflict throughout the past half century. Israel’s tension against other states within the Middle East has spurred vast economic, social, and political unity that has fostered a sense of nationalism and unity in Israel not seen in most other states. Over the next several pages I will try and dissect the reasons for why the nation state of Israel has been emerged in constant conflict and how this conflict has helped foster national unity and identity among the people of Israel.
The MAKOM Matrix was made to emphasize the importance of having both a personal connection with Israel as well as proper knowledge about the state. In the article, “Mature Zionism,” Hanan Alexander introduces: “the tendency to relate to Israel naively in the institutions of American and Israeli Jewish life and to teach about Israel uncritically in American and Israeli Jewish schools.” I view my personal experience to be unique since I experienced both sides of the spectrum. I have attended Jewish day schools in America as well as in Israel. If I would have gone to Jewish day school in America for my whole life I would say my understanding of Israel reflects Alexander’s definition of mature Zionism. However, living and studying in Israel has enabled me to study the flaws in addition to the strengths of Israel. I fully support this idea of wrestling. This means that I
