The American Dream can be both challenging and inspiring. It gives hope through opportunity, but overall, it destroys people's dreams and happiness. Like, in today's society, there are many obstacles people face when trying to achieve the American Dream. Such as inflation, which has caused people to work multiple jobs in order to provide for their families. Willy’s version of the American Dream has led him to failure and feeling burnt out. Because of all the years, he has put into being a good salesman to support his family, he is leading himself to mental failure because his dream is not coming true and he is not being able to provide financial stability for his family. Many people seeking to achieve the American Dream work their whole lives and are never financially stable. Risks are a large part of achieving someone's dream, but what makes the dream become a failure is when one takes too many risks without gaining success. This causes people to realize they put everything they had to achieve the American Dream, and they still failed.
