Although I experienced many ups and downs in my past english classes, Accelerated English III not only taught me several techniques but helped me develop new writing skills as well. Because I had numerous struggles in English, I never felt strong in the subject. I did not consider myself a writer, but Accelerated English III helped me recognize my problems and also helped me fix them. Despite discovering my weakness in transitions and overcoming my fear of research papers, I reached a high point at the end of Accelerated English III when I saw my progression as a writer.
Throughout Accelerated English III, I realized many weaknesses in my writing, especially with transitioning between paragraphs. Because of my lack of transitions, I received bad grades on my first few papers, so I asked my teacher, Mrs. Bingham, to help me. Because it was on a topic I thoroughly enjoyed, I overcame the intimidation of the research paper. With the extensive research and sources, I no longer viewed length as an issue. After presenting my project at the end of the semester and receiving a good grade, I gained confidence in my abilities as a writer. By the end of Accelerated English III, I realized my progression in not only my writing skills, but my writing style as well. I came into the class inexperienced in writing, but I left better equipped with the help of my teacher, Mrs. Bingham. Enhancing my diction and writing style advanced me as a writer, and I realized how many strides I had made towards the writer I wanted to be.
