Abortion Ruins Future Lives
Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. This is one of the most controversial topics in America. Everyone has an opinion about whether abortion should be legal or not, at what time in the pregnancy abortions should be illegal, and who has the right to decide. Although women should have the right to choose what is happening in their own bodies, abortion involves another life and there are too many consequences for both the mother and the child to make it a safe choice.
Abortion became legal in the United States in 1973 when abortion was marked an important turning point in public health. Abortions

Ron Bonn says “pro-choice advocates support the right of everyone to choose reproductive options”. What about girls who are victims of sexual assault and rape? Some people believe girls who are victims of rape and incest can have abortions so that way they don’t have to be reminded of the terrible things that happened. Not all women are ready to care for a child; they might not be financially or old enough to raise another human being or get proper health care during the pregnancy. Many places in the US do not offer abortions but one potential solution to improve access is to increase the number and types of health care professionals who offer early abortion care. For young teens there are abortion clinics that will protect your choice and identity. Since many young teens can’t pay for an abortion some clinics will offer free procedures. Abortions also will help decrease the number of children in foster homes or even in juvenile facilities and prison. Child abuse and demestic violence will also decrese because children should not come into this world and feel unwanted they should feel loved. If a mother’s life is at risk the only way she might be able to live is if the doctors have to remove the …show more content…
When a woman is pregnant there is a breathing human being, and when someone gets an abortion they are killing that person. They stopped a human life. It takes two people to have a child so it is not only the mother’s choice the father should be able to choose as well. Adoption is another choice couples can choose if they do not want to keep the child that way that person can grow up and do incredible things for the world. They take away a life because they do not want to be responsible for a baby; they do not want to put in the work, time, and the responsibility for taking care of a baby. The federal Unborn Victims of Violence Act, which was enacted "to protect unborn children from assault and murder," states that under federal law, anybody intentionally killing or attempting to kill an unborn child should "be punished... for intentionally killing or attempting to kill a human being." Abortion is one of those things that might make people feel unsafe. Here people are suppose to take care of one another but people end lifes of future generations so that way they can feel good about their own futures. It should be plain simple, if people do not want to have a child then they should think before they act because if they don’t, then they are taking away a life that could benefit
Abortion is the ending of a pregnancy before birth; it causes the termination of the embryo or fetus inside the women. There are two different types of abortion, a spontaneous abortion, which is also known as a miscarriage, and an induced abortion, where the embryo or fetus is purposely removed from the women’s body. The topic of induced abortion has been widely debated for hundreds of years. The issue of abortion was argued way back in the time of the ancient Hebrews. In the United States it became illegal around the mid 1800’s and not until the 1960’s was the argument for the right to abort brought back to the table. In 1973, the Supreme Court case “Roe vs. Wade” made abortion legal. The case stated that abortion was legal in the first trimester (three months) of pregnancy (O’Brien par. 17). Since that day over 30 years ago, there have been many cases in which abortion has been disputed. Congress has passed many laws restricting abortion rights, including in cases such as Webster vs. Reproductive Health Services and Stenberg v. Carhart (O’Brien par. 18). There are many other cases like these and each time is seems more likely that a woman’s right to choose could be overturned (“Reproductive Rights” 26). There are many different ranges of beliefs about the morality of abortion, whether or not one should have an abortion, and under what conditions the termination of pregnancy is acceptable. Many argue at what point in the process of pregnancy a human person comes into existence. People disagree about whether anything from an ovum to a fetus is a form of human life. No person knows this information, but it is debated among the two major sides on this issue. The first side are those that believe abortion should be forb...
How would you feel if someone took away your ability to live and have a future? You wouldn't have the opportunity to crawl, take your first step, have your first kiss, or experience those butterflies in your stomach at the sight of first love. Millions of special moments, a life, shredded to pieces. This is essentially what abortion does. Abortion is not the answer in the case of an unplanned pregnancy and needs to be stopped! First of all, abortion is a type of unnecessary murder that occurs in inhumane ways and cannot be tolerated. Moreover, there are alternatives to abortion and many families who are looking to adopt. Lastly, the side effects of abortion can cause life threatening health risks to the mother. Excuses will always be made, but the bottom line is that abortion is not acceptable and should be stopped.
Abortion, which is defined as a deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, is one of the most controversial issues in society. Many people believe that abortion is unethical and morally wrong, while others believe that it is a woman’s right to decide what to do with her body. According to www.census.gov, “the number of abortions performed annually in the U.S. has leveled off at 1.2 million a year” (1). This statistic supports how many women are choosing abortion. Although abortion is legal in the United States, many people continue to voice their opinions on how it is a human rights violation and should be illegal everywhere. The practice of abortion should be banned in society because it terminates the life of an innocent unborn child, causes long-term emotional effects, as well as major health risks for women who opt for abortion.
Abortion refers to the termination of one’s pregnancy, resulting in the removal of one’s fetus to prevent it from being born. While the concept is simple enough, the crux of the argument lies in the morality of this procedure and whether or not a woman should be allowed to sacrifice a fetus to better her own life. Abortion must continue to be legalized in order to ensure that women have that choice.
The decision to abort a pregnancy improves the lives of women across the world everyday. Abortion should remain an option because many deaths are caused by unsafe abortions, individual morality should not govern society as a whole, and no scientific evidence has been presented to confirm that human life begins at conception. Moralists promote the belief that legal abortions are dangerous and that human life begins at conception, however both of these claims have been refuted. When performed legally, abortions are one of the safest surgical procedures. Women should continue to possess the right to terminate their pregnancy for any reason.
Abortion ends the life of an unborn child before it has a chance at life. Arguments have been made that the fetus is not a child nor alive until it’s born, however, according to biology life is a distinctive characteristic of a living organism from dead organism or non-living thing, as specifically distinguished by the capacity to grow, metabolize, respond (to stimuli), adapt, and reproduce. A fetus is a living organism, grows inside the womb, it does respond and adapt to its environment. The fetus also has cells dividing and reproducing which makes it a living being according to biology, which is the study of living things. Therefore, abortion is ending the life of an unborn child.
Many people have their own opinions on abortion, that a fetus is a human being with a right to live so abortion is similar to murder. While other groups argue that a woman has certain rights, especially the choice whether to bring another life into the world. The groups that are for it think that abortion gives women the control over their own bodies, which it is their choice when and whether to have children or giving an option to choose to bring or not to bring a child with abnormalities to the world. Some children are born with severe disorders and some parents, being unable to care for their disabled child seek abortion as their one and only option because taking care of a child, especially born with abnormalities is tough work to do as a parent, so they decide whether bring a life into the world. They look ahead on what is best for them, and it is selfish. Or even having in mind that some do not want to become a single parent taking up two roles; a mother and father and they feel like every child should come into the world feeling wanted, loved and cared for. Another reason some women have an abortion is because they do not want to stop work or schooling, and these reasons are consistent across many countries, including America. Other reasons are because of societal pressures, women get little to no social support. But
This states that a woman has a right to make decisions that involve her body. Our government has always respected the individual’s right to privacy. A woman’s reproductive system should not be the property of the government. The U.S Supreme Court Case, Roe vs. Wade, that was brought about in 1973, decided that abortion was to be legal. This case stated that the unborn fetus is not a legal person and therefore does not have legal rights. Unfortunately, a baby does not become a legal person until he/she is born, even though the baby may biologically contain a brain, heart, and limbs. The unborn child is simply the property of the mother and the mother can wish to do what she wants with the fetus. Though I am completely against pro-choice, I can see where, in some cases, why a mother would not want to keep her child. For instance, if a woman were to be raped and got pregnant, I could see where she would not want to keep her baby. The thought of raising a child by a man that violated her body could just be way too unbearable. But, with that being said there are also other answer such as adoption. There are millions of couples in the world who are unable to get pregnant for many reasons. They are striving to have a child that they can care for, love, raise, and be theirs. Most of the time this is a devastating factor for couples. I personally know of a couple that was unable to get pregnant and that fact ultimately ended their relationship. The answer of putting a child up for adoption is 100% better than taking the life of an unborn child. No matter who this child was a product of, there is always someone out there that is willing to take care and love this child as their
Abortion is the ending of a pregnancy before birth. An abortion results in the death of the embryo or fetus and may be either spontaneous or induced. For years, abortion has been an extremely controversial subject. The history of abortion reaches back not just decades, but centuries, and even milleniums. Today, policies regarding legal abortion in the U.S. is being debated everywhere. Many myths and misconceptions confuse this issue. A better understanding of the history of abortion in America can help provide a context for an improved policy in the future.
Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by the removal or expulsion of a fetus or embryo from the uterus before viability (dictionary.com). Those who disagree with abortion think that this is not right, mid evil and a form of murder. All of those thoughts are correct; abortion is the act of removing a fetus from the protection of the mother’s uterus. However, is it not the duty of the mother to protect her unborn child? In this day in age, we are still allowing this barbaric method of ending a pregnancy to happen despite the many alternatives. If an unexpected pregnancy should occur, abortion should not the only option. There are many reasons why abortion should not be illegal in all parts of the world, and people need to know the options available. Adoption is certainly a strong option in a world wanting for children. Abortion is not a method of birth control and people need to be educated on pregnancy prevention and take on some responsibilities.
Abortion has been a complex social issue in the United States ever since restrictive abortion laws began to appear in the 1820s. By 1965, abortions had been outlawed in the U.S., although they continued illegally; about one million abortions per year were estimated to have occurred in the 1960s. (Krannich 366) Ultimately, in the 1973 Supreme Court case of Roe v. Wade, it was ruled that women had the right to privacy and could make an individual choice on whether or not to have an abortion during the first trimester of pregnancy. (Yishai 213)
Abortion has been accepted by the United States of America ever since the monumental Roe vs. Wade case in the early 1970’s, but is still a very controversial issue. Many people are for and against abortions. Some people say that the child inside its mother’s womb deserves the opportunity to live, while others believe that a mother has the right to choose whether or not her fetus can live or die. Other advocates for abortion claim that abortion helps keep the threat of overpopulation down. They also say that in many extreme cases, it is in the best interest of the mother and the child that the fetus be aborted. Abortion helps keep the crime rate low, so it should remain legal, they also say.
“The choice over when and whether to have children is central to a woman's independence and ability to determine her future.” (Abortion ProCon.org.). It is true that abortion is a sad topic but abortion is okay under certain circumstances. Women should not be judged for their decision because abortion might be the best option for her and her child. But there is no doubt in the world that killing another thing is horrible but Abortion should stay legal under certain circumstances because no woman should be forced to be a mother if she incapable of doing so, no child should come into the world unwanted, or if the women is raped she should be able to get an abortion.
At the teen stage of life they are very curious about the world and coitus is usually on top of the list. Many people know how to have it safely but some may not have the money or are too lazy to buy condoms. With no experience and a lot of curiosity they forget the consequences of non-protected coitus, this leads to young 16-18 year olds getting pregnant completely ruining their lives. Teen pregnancies usually occur during the late stages of high school and those stages of school are usually the most important for teens. I believe that abortion could prevent all the events after they have coitus potentially saving the teen of having a life of regret.
Abortions have always been a very controversial topic. Over the years we continue to fight for or against it. One can say that is one of the most talked and argued topic in the United States. An abortion is when a woman terminates her pregnancy before the fetus is viable using various of methods. Some argue that abortions should be illegal and considered murder, while others, from a religious point of view, say that no one has the right to take away the life of a person, in this case the fetus. However, others insist, that abortions are a basic women’s right.
