The topic of this research paper is abortions. Abortion is a hot topic and everyone has their own views and opinions on them. People have different views on abortion due to religious background, political party, gender and age. What is an abortion one might ask. An abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often preformed the first twenty eight weeks of pregnancy. This topic is very important because peoples views very so much. Some people do not agree with abortion because they think that is like killing a living person, other people think if they are not ready for a child this might be the best option. Illinois has the least amount of restrictions to obtain an abortion while Alabama has more strict requirements. You do not need your parents consent, just notify them that you are getting an abortion. Abortion is covered by insurance if for public employees only in case of life endangerment. If a women has an abortion she must go to state directed counseling that includes information about discouraging her from having an abortion forty eight hours before her abortion. Affordable care act and public funding is only available for abortions if your life is endangered, you were raped or incest. The use of telemedicine for a medicated abortion is prohibited. A women must have an ultra sound before her abortion and she is given the chance to see the image if she would like too.

Planned parenthood is a non profit organization that does research in to and gives advice on contraception, family advice and reproductive problems. Planned parenthood provides healthcare to the community, they inform and educate people about sex. Planned parenthood offers more services then just abortions. They offer birth control to help prevent teens and women from getting pregnant, they give breast exams, they test and treat people for sexually transmitted infections. More then five million people visit a planned parenthood a year. About three percent of planned parenthood visits are due to abortion services.
