A Personal Experience Of Working At H-E-E-B Grocery Store

In the summer of 2015 I started working for H-E-B grocery store. I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I knew that I was going to have to work hard and stay busy from seeing the other employees when I go just to shop. It was my first job, and I was excited to start making my own money that I could spend on whatever I wanted to. Showing up to work almost every day in the summer was hard sometimes, especially when I had morning shifts. Now I knew it was going to be rough, but I always tried to work hard and stay as happy as I could be. Some of my fellow employees felt differently though. I got along great with almost all of the other cashiers and baggers, but there was some that just refused to work. They could look busy, but in reality they weren’t working hard at all. At certain times the store got extremely crazy and we needed everyone to be working as efficient as they could. Lot is where you go outside in the scorching heat, and you gather all of the shopping carts that are spread out in the parking lot. Two people are on lot at the same time, each getting one half of the store. You are on lot usually once a day during your shift, and it lasts for about an hour and a half or two hours. I never really minded lot, because I got out of the store and got to be outside away from the hecticness, and sometimes rudeness of the customers. The only thing I disliked about lot, is that if the person that was outside before you was lazy and didn’t do very good, then it makes your job extremely hard. The carts would be in the way of the parking spots, or some of the holders would be lined up with carts running into where you drive. But any time I was on lot, I made sure to work hard so that it would be easy for the next person in line. I know that that’s what I would want, so I tried my best to do
