Due to the overhaul of the series that came out as The Force Awakens, Star Wars is energized and knows of the direction to go for these new films, that are yet old. 21st Century Disney, with its century of experience, it is beyond budget for phenomenal cinematics. Regardless, the theatrical elements could not be bought. The quality of theatrics is brought by the imagination of its team and its creator. In the elements of theatre, when they bring back characters from A New Hope, they were not CGI and were of original stature and representation. Of course, the easiest species to cast are humans and those that are on Tantive IV as Marines had the same oval helmets and vest, which is a reminder of buying costume sets in bulk for a theatrical production depicting war. On board, Tantive IV looks like a set made in an era that A Space Odyssey and the first Star Wars was made. Nowadays, sets on theatre can make it. Admittedly, the acting in the film was not brought out as hoped. Nevertheless, the dialogues showed the essence of the theatrical. For instance, as Îmwe heads towards a switch to open radio communication with the Rebel fleets above Scarif, he repeats to himself, “I am one with the Force and the Force is with me.” In the battle with loud sounds of blaster fire and explosions, no soldier can hear his mumble to himself. The film could do what many could do and internalize the voices in the minds of people, but it is theatrical to place the lines vocally. The famous Star Wars is a movie from the epic space film series directed by George Lucas premiered in 1977. Since there are multiple Star Wars movies in the series, this paper will be focusing on the first movie of the series called Star Wars: A New Hope.
Pause for a second and think about a play or musical that you have seen. Consider the plot, whether you liked it or not and if the experience was positive or negative. Think about the characters, the costumes, and the emotions that were emitted. The discourse community of theatre is unique in the way that it is so complex and there are many different parts that ultimately come together to create a dynamic whole. The term discourse community is rather broad, but John Swales in his article “The Concept of Discourse Community” gives six characteristics that define it. Swales lists them saying,

The Federal Theatre Project was one of the Works Progress Administration (WPA)'s projects that was created to help deal with the economic turmoil caused by the Great Depression. Thousands of artists, whether it was in the form of writing, music, or performing arts, were put out of work. The Federal Arts projects were created to reinstate jobs for unemployed artists as well as create displays of art for the public. "The Federal Theatre Project, directed by the former head of the Vassar College Experimental Theatre, Hallie Flanagan, was the most important, the most controversial, and hence, the shortest-lived of the Federal One Projects" (Gerdes, 155). Though the Federal Theatre Project caused a large amount of controversy among people in America, it was very important because during its short life it supplied jobs for many people working in the arts and it brought free theatre to America.

For example, the way everyone spoke in the movie and so clear with the accent. As well as another amazing acting scene is the doctor self-performance surgery on himself. Then captain Jack’s speech to his crew was great acting of friendship besides a connection with crew members. As a matter of fact, the fourth most important scene was the French pretending their captain was dead. Not only did they pretend their captain was dead but played it off as if he surrenders his sword to the English men.
In this paper, I will be focusing briefly on my knowledge and understanding of the concept of Applied theatre and one of its theatre form, which is Theatre in Education. The term Applied Theatre is a broad range of dramatic activity carried out by a crowd of diverse bodies and groups.
Theatre will always survive in our changing society. It provides us with a mirror of the society within which we live, and where conflicts we experience are acted out on stage before us. It provides us with characters with which we identify with. The audience observes the emotions and actions as they happen and share the experience with the characters in real time.
Before I started Introduction to Theatre class, I had been only to a couple of plays in my life. Just in this semester I’ve been to about ten plays and have learned so much about the art of theatre. The information I retained from class will help out a lot in the future, but the most important part of this class was the shadowing experience of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. With being able to get an inside look at this play during rehearsal and then going to see the performance was an incredible experience. By going to the rehearsal and then seeing the show, I was able to learn and understand more on how the theatre works. From there, I could understand the long process the actors and directors have to go through before the opening show happens.
My experience watching a live theatre performance on stage was a fascinating one, most especially since it was my first time. I attended a staged performance of “The History Boys” in a small theatre called “The Little Theatre of Alexandria” at 8:00 pm on Wednesday June 8, 2016 in Alexandria, Virginia. The overall production of the play was a resounding experience for me particularly the performance of the actors and the design of the scene made the play seem real.
The ‘Modern’ era began, approximately, in the mid-1800s (Worthen), following its predecessor the Romantic period, which was an era that was emotionally charged ad focused on the physical relationships between characters and being one-with-nature, rather than the focus of the modernist period which was to bring social and political issues or statements into the storyline of a script whilst still keeping the stage, characters and overall performance aesthetically pleasing for the audience of the particular period.
