The Orthodox Christian Church holds true to the teachings of Christ as given by Him to His apostles. The Orthodox Christian Church is universal and Orthodox Christians have a faith and doctrine of Jesus Christ Our Lord as Head of the Church.
To date, the Orthodox Church teachings promote the central role of youth and children in the mission of the church. Being an Orthodox Christian is a lifelong calling to whoever is baptized and chrismated in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Right from child hood, we as Orthodox Children share in the Holy mysteries of the faith. The Holy Liturgies and prayers emphasize the mystical transformation of the child to dress up in Christ and to follow Christ forever.
My obligation as a young girl is to preserve, protect and promote this Orthodoxy through my daily activities and witnessing to the faith by reflecting the true picture of Christ. Settling into school as Orthodox Christian for many of us is difficult. I attend a public high school and I have noticed that public school offers a variety of activities such as sports and extra-curricular activities and it is easy for faith to be forgotten or simply put aside, along with medial and the social world around us like celebrities, tabloids, tv, Facebook and many other forms of social media.
St. Paul teaches us that: You have been called to enjoy liberty, only do not let the liberty to be an Opportunity for the flesh: Instead serve One another through Love. Because the entire law is summoned up in this one statement, "Love your Neighbor as yourself." (Galatians5:13-4)"Yourself - Love" should therefore, symbolize or stand for the True Faith which you as the True Temple of God must witness it before the world. Let your light i...

My Orthodox community helps me feel close to home since their values relate to mine. What I do in the world is just as important what I do in my church. Christ’s style of self-giving love is the example I call myself to follow throughout my life. Orthodoxy offers me a way of handling the everyday life with a clear and calmer point view and grows my feeling f hope for the better. I do everything with my whole heart and wherever I am in life my faith and God is always there right by me, faith helped me see the world as god sees world and brought me close to vision of god as possibly could.

In Charles Colson and Nancy Pearcy's essay, "Worldviews in Conflict," the authors evaluate the shifting culture context of today's society and how Christianity fits into this situation. The essay compares the differing views between Christianity and today's worldview, and informs the reader on how to engage today's culture. "Worldviews in Conflict" is a reliable source because its authors, audience, publication, and purpose make it
He focuses on the need and importance of teaching ancestral values to the young people, in a way that they can relate and understand. Young people of the world have become un-rooted from tradition, not knowing how they are connected to the world, who they can turn to for guidance and support, and lacking in spiritual leadership. This has caused increased violence, disparity, and suffering around the world. It is the responsibility of all leaders, cultural, spiritual, ethnic, religious, and educational to assist in the understanding of traditions, heritage, ancestral roots, belief systems, and values in a way that the young people of today can comprehend and feel connected. The young people of today are the leaders of tomorrow, they need our guidance and support to grow and mature into responsible adults. They must become re-rooted in tradition and beliefs to maintain a since of stability for the

In the eyes of the people the church is one place you are spared from judgment and critique. It is the one place you should feel safe, to express your thoughts and opinions, pray to the higher power in which you believe and your faith resides and be free of society qualms, demands, and realism. ...what one does. God hopes that everyone lives a good, generous life. Everyone should perform actions from their hearts, because if one is forced to do something it is not love. For instance, throughout life one is taught that being there for the other or a friend is something that is out of love and is the significance of friendship. Everyone should be friends with the poor, get to know them, and lend a helping hand.
The church or Ecclesia, as it is called in the original Greek language, regardless of size, are the called out ones who assemble to represent the Body and life of Jesus Christ. They engage in meetings of praise, worship, and listening to the Word of God, which is taken from their manual called the Holy Bible, or the Scriptures; those bringing the message are considered to be the mouthpieces for God, and are typically called preachers (KJV, Eph 5.23-32). According to the Bible, the church, which includes the preachers, is to strive to exemplify the type of life that Jesu...
Although the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church ultimately had more differences which ended up causing their split, they once had quite a few a similarities. The churches shared “many of the same prayers and liturgies” (“Eastern Orthodox”, 2001 para.1). Both the Eastern and Western churches had a difference in opinion in defining and numbering sacraments but they did agree on what the seven major sacraments for their churches should be. They also agreed upon that the male clergy should consist of bishops, priests, and deacons.
Orthodox Judaism is said to have begun in 1851 (OrthodoxJudaism). Orthodox Judaism is the practice of the traditional form of Judaism. They formed due to the reform movement that was changing the beliefs of the Jewish religion, and they wanted to keep the traditional beliefs (OrthodoxJuadism). Orthodox Judaism is the strictest form of Judaism (OrthodoxJuadism). They follow the Jewish laws very strongly (WhatO). The Jewish laws are rules about daily life. A source goes into detail by saying what these rules are, “what to do when you wake up in the morning, what you can and cannot eat, what you can and cannot wear, how to groom yourself, how to conduct business, how you can marry, how to observe the holidays and the Shabbat, and perhaps the most important, how to treat God, other people, and animals” (Rich). An example of some of the things that Orthodox Jews cannot eat is pork and shellfish. A source says, “How animals are slaughtered, prepared, cooked, and eaten. Food is kosher (permitted) and terefah (forbidden)” (Breuilly). Orthodox Judaism is a monotheistic religion which means they believe in one God. They believe that God will send a Messiah who will end all bad things ...
The Eastern Orthodox Church is a branch of Christianity, it rooted in the early Church and was developed in the Greek-speaking eastern branch of the Roman Empire. The Eastern Orthodoxy’s faith is very close to the faith of Roman Catholic Church. Orthodox Christianity‘s worship is highly liturgical and very iconographic. The Annunciation Greek Orthodox church that located in Houston Texas is the proto-cathedral of the Denver Metropolis. While attending the high Mass in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox catheral, and the Ordinary form of Mass in a Roman Catholic Church, one can tell the similars and differences between two form of the Orthodox church and Roman Catholic church in celebrating liturgy. The Ordinary Form of Mass also call Novus Ordo, which is the form of Mass that allow people to celebrate the Sacred Mystery in vernacular language. The Orthodox high Mass and the Ordinary form of Mass are both similar in the main orders and elements in celebrating Mass. However, each form of Mass has it unique way in celebrating liturgy, such as the different of the readings in the Liturgy of the Word, the Creed, the offertory of the Gift, and the gesture of the communicants in receiving Holy Communion.
The writings of Fyodor Dostoevsky and Helen Ellerbe show substantial evidence that the orthodox Christians did in fact steal from humanity the divine freedom it was promised by Jesus Christ. This thesis is supported in Dostoevsky's "The Grand Inquisitor" from his book The Brothers Karamazov. The dark side of Christian history by Helen Ellerbe also supports this theory. The Inquisition itself shows credibility to the theory that orthodox Christianity was established to conquer and control the freedom of humans.
Christianity has its challenges. It places demands on us that set us apart from the rest of our world. The bible calls us a peculiar people, who navigate the challenge of living IN the world, without being OF the world. When we say ‘no’ to temptations that are enjoyed by the masses, we are labeled as self-righteous snobs, religious weirdoes, or worse. But we persevere, and we press toward that invisible line the Apostle Paul drew in the sands of time…for the high calling in Christ Jesus.
Behind the elaborate fresco paintings and splendid architecture, Eastern Orthodox Church has played a significant role in the preservation of Christian tradition throughout history. Since the transfer of the imperial capitol of the Roman Empire from Rome to Constantinople, the Eastern Orthodox Christianity has evolved into a distinct branch of Christianity (Steeves). As Timothy Ware, the author of The Orthodox Church, suggests, major intellectual, cultural, and social developments that were taking place in a different region of the Roman Empire were not entirely consistent with the evolution of Western Christianity (Ware 8). These traditions and practices of the church of Constantinople were adopted by many and still provide the basic patterns and ethos of contemporary Orthodoxy. The Eastern Orthodox Church has adopted unique organizational features, beliefs, and traditions constituting itself as a unique branch of Christianity.
