The year is 2000. On a dark, wet, rainy night in Detroit, you could hear the sound of chains rattling while kids were playing basketball on their makeshift hoop. In the apartment right next to their basketball court, you could hear the blended sounds of yelling, of televisions, and of music. If you listened closely, you could hear two men planning to break into a house in apartment 21. This apartment’s decoration was mostly from African descent, as if they were from Africa themselves. The peacock feathered clock read nine twenty P.M. “If we come in through the front door as salesmen, o-o-or maybe acting as a neighbor”, Sterling anxiously stuttered to his partner Forest. “If we did that we would have to take the whole family as hostages, man. …show more content…
We should just do it at night under the cover of darkness”, Forest rebutted. Sterling agreed with Forest and they set a date for their daring act of burglary. While Forest was leaving, he looked through the peek-hole of the old door and saw two bald women dressed in blue suits. Forest turned before he opened the door and told Sterling, “Hey man you got two female Agent Smiths outside your door”. Sterling, looking shocked and confused, quickly put away the plans for the break-in along with the weapons they would use. He hesitantly uttered, “L-l-let them in”. The two women abrasively entered the living room where Sterling was standing, nearly knocking over Forest.
“The Boss wants you to return”, the lady on the left said, with no emotion, almost as if she was an android. Forest exclaimed, “What are you even talking about lady? What is she talking about Sterling?!” Sterling replied, “I don’t know man!” After Sterling denied knowing the two women both, women, in synchrony, knocked out both men simultaneously. Panicky, Forest woke up in a white room illuminated by a buzzing light in the ceiling with only one door and a table. He hesitantly walked toward the door and reached out for the handle trying to stay as quiet as possible. He was suddenly transported to a field of flowers and mountains. He could smell the flowers but still heard the buzzing of the light. He exclaimed “What in the...”, and before he could finish his exclamation, he was immediately sent back to the white room. In complete horror, Forest crawled into the corner and curled into the fetal position. Sterling slowly woke up with a headache in a dimly lit room. There was a slim figure standing across the room. Sterling, filled with anger and confusion, aggressively interrogated the slim figure, demanding to know where he was and who the slim figure is. After getting no response, Sterling backed down. The slim figure turned and looked at Sterling with sadness and …show more content…
confusion. Sterling asked, “Why are you looking at me like that?
You better tell me where I am before I kill you!” The slim figure questioned, “Why do you not ask about your partner?” “Forest? What did you do to Forest?”, rebutted Sterling. A small screen, located to the left of the slim man appeared, showing a video of Forest still at the apartment standing dormant like he had seen a ghost. The two women, who were in the apartment, were now standing on the sides of the video screen. The slim man murmured, “See? Nothing has been done to him. Now. Why don’t you tell me what you two were planning?” When the slim man asked this you could see his lifeless eyes and his pale face ever so slightly in the dim light. Sterling, acting as tough as possible, questioned the slim man again asking the same question, “Where am I?” The slim man just stood there with no movement. Sterling then asked, “Why do you want to know what we were planning?” The slim man leaned into the dim light and asked again in a slow, deep voice, “What were you planning?” Slightly terrified, Sterling told the slim man what he wanted to know. “Why?” asked the slim man. “We needed money that’s why.”, replied
Sterling The slim man looked saddened. He snapped his fingers and Sterling was transported to the white room with Forest. Forest, looking as if he had been there for days, got up and ran toward Sterling yelling, “WHERE ARE WE?” Sterling, startled by Forest being there, when he just saw him in the apartment. Answered, “I don’t know Forest. All I do know is this skinny guy asked me about our plan. Maybe, if we get out of this, we forget the plan and don’t break into the house” After Sterling finished talking, he felt his fingers tingle and he was back in the apartment with the two women standing in front of him. Forest, who was also back at the apartment, turned toward Sterling, and fainted. “Thank you for your time Mr. Brown and Mr. Whitaker”, pronounced the two women as they left the apartment. Sterling, completely confused by what happened, looked at the clock and it read eleven fifteen P.M. Forest picking himself up from the floor asked, “What just happened?” Sterling replied, “I have no idea”. The following day was bright and warm with cars casually cruising down the street in front of Sterling’s apartment. Sterling awoke from his small mattress and walked into his kitchen and saw Forest on his couch asleep. The clock read eight nineteen A.M. Sterling woke Forest up and asked, “Are we still hitting that house.” “Yeah man.”, replied Forest.

She sucked in her cheeks but stared past him and said nothing. Anders saw that the other woman her friend, was looking in the same direction. And then the tellers stopped what they were doing, and the customers slowly turned, and silence came over the bank. Two men wearing black ski masks and blue business suits were standing to the side of the door. One of them had a pistol pressed against the guard’s neck. The guard’s eyes were closed, and his lips were moving. The other man had a sawed-off shotgun. “Keep your big mouth shut!” the man with the pistol said, though no one had spoken a word. “One of you tellers hits the alarm, you’re all dead meat. Got it?”
She heard shuffling behind her, and all of a sudden she was flying through the air and it all went black. Little did they know I was watching the whole time. What do I have to do with this situation, you ask? Well, I am in charge of this scheme after all. I start laughing out loud to make my presence known. “What did I tell you Alvah?” I asked, a deadly smirk had plastered itself onto my face. “I told you to bring the girl to me,” I started, running towards his frightened face. “I told you to bring her to me, not kill her. That was my job!” I shouted, grabbing his neck. “T-T-Thánatos,” he stuttered, struggling to get out of my grip. I drop him to his feet and take off my glove. He stumbled, trying to regain his balance. He stared me right in the face and touched my hand, he then turned to dust. “Death! My name is Death!” I smirked, then vanished into the night, seeking my next victim who dares to go into the forbidden library, and makes preposterous deals with the
He just turned and left without a word. I touched Lennie’s grave. The rough touch of the wood deflecting to my fingers. I walked back to the ranch. Everyone was asleep. I wanted to run away tomorrow but I couldn’t let this chance pass up. It also prevented any chance of Candy following me. I tiptoed out of the room and went straight to the woods. I made sure to mix myself in with the shadows of the trees. I saw the river and It felt like I did it...until I felt something grab me by my neck. I quickly got flipped over and pushed to the ground.
All spring and summer the townsfolk spoke about the three bodies that had been found, mangled and slashed. Now, had the three men headed the warning and stayed away from the old man’s house they would still be alive. Instead they were tempted by the greed in their hearts for the money the terrible old man was said to have possession of. This drove them to enter through his gate and knock on the door. They believed that because he was an old man, he would be feeble and week, making him an easy target for
The robbers had guns and told everyone to be quiet. Then they told the tellers not to hit any alarems or they would be “dead meat” (Wolff 73) and to fill the bags up with money. Anders looked at the lady’s and scarcastically said “dead meat” ( Wolff 73) to mock the robbers. The robbers called the teller that walked away, from the line Anders was in, to get her “ugly ass over there and fill the bag” (Wolff ). With that Anders could not hold back the sarcasm and said “justice is done” (Wolff ). The robbers hear Anders and yells to him “ hey bright boy did I give you permission to speak?” Anders said “no” (Wolff ) and looks at the ladys in front of him and said “did you hear him? He called be bright boy” (Wolff ). The ladys nervously said “ please be quiet” (Wolff )! The robber yells again “ hey you deaf or what” (Wolff )? Anders said “no” and the robber poked the gun in Anders stomach and asked if he thought if he was playing
You spy with your possibly (or-possibly-not-so) little eye, a YOUNG MAN who happens to be asleep at the moment. The CLOCK that stands next to this man’s bed has just struck twelve, though whether it’s the night or the afternoon, the clock doesn’t bother with. It’s job is simply to tell the time and it feels that it’s doing that just fine enough for now. But the beams of sunlight shining through the window solve this problem for you. This young man should’ve been awake hours ago, it seems.
The man said that he last left death under a tree in the forest. The men then went to look for Death. When they
All day i’ve been staring out the window, making friends with the raindrops that tap against my windowpane. They have all raced to the edge of the canvas I stare through. The clouds move in synchronization, perfectly.

Bruno Brian ran slim fingers over his carefully styled hair. Shrugging the navy blazer more comfortably on his broad shoulders, he wondered if his businessman's disguise masked the figure of a broken-down football coach who hadn't worked in years. He took another sip of beer as he saw Shorty Lopez striding into the bar. "Where you been?" Bruno growled. "You're late." Shorty eased into the booth, his toes barely touching the floor. "Cool your jets, Bruno," he snapped. "I'm always at the starting gate when it counts, ain't I?" Bruno hated to admit Shorty was right. "Ready for another heist?" "Thought you'd never ask. What's up?" "First National Bank of Prairieton, Iowa-- population twenty thousand," Bruno replied. "Rich farm community across the state line. We should split a hundred grand." "That'll set me up in Acapulco for a few months," Shorty said. Bruno ignored him. "Here's the plan. Tonight while you're holed up in a motel, I'll meet with the bank prez. If there's inside info to be had, I'll get it." "You're going to dinner with the prez? Come on!" "No joke. The big gun is my aunt, Alice Brunk." "A woman?" "Yeah. She held out for a career before it was the 'in' thing for women." "And you'd steal from family? Why?" So when do we strike?" Shorty asked. "Early in the morning, I hope. First I've got to find out when the vault opens. But listen. There's a new escape route." "I liked the old one." "Hate to repeat an MO. Cops keep track of stuff like that," Bruno explained. "Anyway, this plan's a winner. I've snitched a 'Student Driver' sign from the local high school. You'll steal a car, attach the sign to it and park at the bank like some kid waiting on his drivers'-Ed teacher. "I'll get the goods, slip into the passenger seat and ...
The man thought that it would be best just to run from the figure and get out of the forest as soon as possible, but the more the man ran the more he saw the figure, it was as if there were many of them wherever he looked, the man started to slow down to pull out his camera and flashlight, just to record if anything bad happened and anybody need to find him.
We had only two pounds of meat in our home made freezer and melted down ice for our source of hydration. We all knew that we could not keep living like this. I walked four miles to get to a corner store, but what I saw… scarred my mind and thoughts forever. My father, the man I knew and loved so much, who worked so hard for our family, was plastered as a hit and run criminal in every window. From the boutiques to the grocery store he was known as a killer, and in all honesty, it didn’t surprise me.
It was around eleven o’clock at night, a loud noise from downstairs awoke Mr. Seems from his peaceful sleep with a startle. Mr. Seems was a corner store owner for over twenty years and lived in the apartments above the store in his hometown of Brooklyn, New York. As Mr. Seems walked carefully down the dark staircase, which was lit only by a single beam of light that came from his flashlight, he reached the back door of his store. He took a minute to place the flashlight in his mouth, grabbed the keys, and unlocked the door. Then he grabbed the bat which he brought with him, and he busted through the door with a scream that would have caused even the least jumpy to jump back with fright. But as the man looked
