The conduction of research has developed inspiration and brought ideas of potential projects to mind. This memo will discuss the inspiration and ideas developed from specific TED and scholarly articles. The speakers, Dean Kamen, Manu Prakash and Hans Rosling from TED talks brought inspiration by discussing the process of inventing a product and the need from help in poverty stricken countries. Specifically, Manu Prakash presentation regarding his creation of a 50-cent microscope created the largest amount of inspiration. This inspiration came from his invention as it demonstrated how a cost effective and efficient product could have a significant impact on society in a field (medical) which is known to be expensive. The Myths of Innovation by Scott Berkun completely changed the way I view creativity. I noticed that we all have creativity inside of us; it is by means of expressing our deepest desires and ideas that we display our creativity to others. Burkun destroys myth after myth about innovation, which had me ready to start inventing my first million dollar idea! Berkun outlines ways to tap into innovation and pulls from history to guide us into the future. His simple and common prose gave me courage to tackle the tough problems. I now feel as though I have a firm grasp on what it means to be an effective creator.

When the topic of creativity comes up, for most people, the conversation would normally involve art or music. But when I think of creativity, I think of the incredible world of medicine. In this research paper, I argue that creativity isn't just limited to the world of art and literature, but rather it is extremely important even in the medical field. Many advancements have been made in the medical field due to an individual’s discovery or innovative idea. I want to bring awareness to the importance of creativity in the medical field and how it plays a crucial role in the future of medicine. Innovations like the MRI or Gleevec, and the events leading up to the complete eradication of Smallpox, are just a handful of some of the most incredible life-saving medical breakthroughs in modern history. In the world of medicine, peoples creativity has and continues to save thousands of lives everyday, all, one creative idea at a time.
Second, we want to create innovative and sustainable products. We live to innovate -- it’s who we are. When our corporate responsibility initiatives begin leading us to new product development, it brings a new energy to our efforts. Whole divisions in our company open up to the prospects. Eyebrows are raised. There are results already: We’re finding ways to eliminate the toxic chemicals commonly used in making products and materials and teams are creating business models for generating revenue from ground-up old shoes; designers are developing products made of recycled polyester or organic cotton.
Technology development in the last two decades have help us come this far, and maybe even more further as human being, including ourselves, have the passion and bigger need for something more advanced than what we already achieved. The technology developing is now not only a scientist's job to invent, but also it has become major businesses in the world economy.
