Islam is the practice of peace and the submission of desires to the will of Allah. It’s a monotheistic faith. Unlike other religion Allah has never walked the earth, he has no beginning and no end. He has no parents, spouse or child. Allah created everything, the mountains, the sky, the sun, the fruit, and all living creatures. The only people who were sent down to Earth were prophets like Muhammad. They were sent to spread the word of Allah and Islam. They educated the people a right way of living. The five pillars, the prayers, Ramadan, how to dress and eat. They were told what would happen if they did or didn’t follow the word of Allah. Islam is a beautiful religion that is very detail on how to live a righteous life.

The first one is reciting “there is no God but Allah and Mohammed is the prophet of Allah.” A person must say it and fully believe it. The second pillar is to pray five times a day. While praying a person essential be focused and truly worship Allah. The third pillar is to give 2% of your earnings to charity or a local masjid. The fourth it is to fast the holy month of Ramadan with the full intent of showing your devotion to Allah. Pilgrimage to Mecca is the fifth pillar of Islam. Muslims travel to Mecca to see the Ka’bah also known as the “house of God”. Muslims offer prayers, ask for forgiveness, and show devotion. This pillar is only required for all worshipers of Allah who are physically and financially able to go. They must travel there at least once in their lifetime. It has a thorough way of living, there many rules and restriction that followed to reach heaven. This life on Earth is just a test, based on the result you will be rewarded with heaven or punished with hell. It’s truly spiritually magnificent, without seeing Allah, there is a huge following that puts their trust in his. As a young Muslim woman, I truly believe in the Quran and all that comes with it. I am proud to wear the hijab it makes me feel powerful and strong because of what it represents. I try my hardest to follow the five pillars by believing the Shahadah, praying five times, fasting Ramadan, and donating to the local Masque as much as I can.
