2081 Scene Analysis
After evaluating the 2081 movie, it is apparent the film elements and techniques are important when defining the mood. The four main techniques used throughout the film were lighting, music, sound, and dialogue.
Throughout the movie 2081, the producer uses a lot of lighting tricks to help tell the story. In one scene, the cameras are facing Harrison’s back and viewers see this silver tube in his hand (17:49). The lighting around the object is very bright. The producer does this to signify the importance this object will have later on. Without the special lighting effects used in the scene, the silver tube may have been overlooked. Brightening the screen drew attention toward the silver tube. Later on, viewers are taken

The audience could infer that the cylinder was important to the story because it was the only thing in a dark room that had a reflection of light over it. The producer wants spectators to know that the cylinder plays a vital role in the movie at some point or the other. If that room was full of light, the brass cylinder could have easily went unnoticed and the scene would have been far less intense. The light is what brought awareness to the brass cylinder in the first place. Viewers also see some major lighting effects at the 20-minute 26-second mark. At this point in the movie, Diana Moon Glampers has just shot Harrison and his Empress. Right after this event, the entire screen goes white. Viewers saw Diana with a gun and they saw her aim, but they never really see the bullets leave the gun and hit Harrison and his empress. By using the white out effect the audience can easily make an educated guess that the gun was fired and Harrison and his empress were shot. Right after this incident, the lighting starts getting very dark (21:06). The darkness represents sorrow, fear, depression, and all negative feelings. The use of darkness is very appropriate in this case because people normally always
During the 1980’s, two standout films, The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles, were released. To this day, they are still being watched across the globe. What is it that is making these movies timeless? The storyline of both films has been something that teens and adults of all generations can relate. The films also display some fantastic film techniques that convey theme and character brilliantly. Film techniques play a huge role in making films a success, and both films I will be examining are prime examples of this.
The lighting played a major role in setting the tone for both the theatre performance and the movie. In both the film and play, the lighting was dimmed and the non-important elements, such as background elements, were often hidden in the shadows. In the film the murky lighting also hid Todd in the shadows, in order to increase the suspense and further emphasize his intimidating demeanor. In the play,
The lighting was also very effectively used to show the coming and going of cars on the set. The reflection of lights on the front door of the house were used resemble those of an automobile. Even the final scene had just enough absence of light that the shadows of the characters could be seen sitting around the dinner table and praying by candlelight. At the very end of the performance the candles were extinguished consuming the set in blackness in turn signifying the end of the production.

For task two I will be analyzing video under the generalist heading and under the subheading Integrating Mathematics and Science number 142. The video is of a third grade classroom conducting an experiment about different types of soil. They are to test which types absorb more water and which how fast the water goes through the water. The first instructional strategy the teacher mentions changing is that at first she had the groups into more of a homogeneous grouping where the higher achievers were paired with the lower achievers, but the teacher observed that the higher achievers were doing the majority of the work. The teacher decided to make the groups into more of a heterogeneous grouping where the pairs were closer to the same achievement
One of the most evident symbols in this piece is the green light. The distant and faint light is a symbol of Gatsby’s hopes and dreams for the future, but also the past. Gatsby sees the green light from the edge of his dock and presumes that it is

...successful collaboration of sound, colour, camera positioning and lighting are instrumental in portraying these themes. The techniques used heighten the suspense, drama and mood of each scene and enhance the film in order to convey to the spectator the intended messages.
As an audience we are manipulated from the moment a film begins. In this essay I wish to explore how The Conversation’s use of sound design has directly controlled our perceptions and emotional responses as well as how it can change the meaning of the image. I would also like to discover how the soundtrack guides the audience’s attention with the use of diegetic and nondiegetic sounds.
Although in the novel the reader has to decipher and figure out the importance of these symbols, in the movie these symbols are enhanced and are shown more clearly to the viewer. They show Gatsby out on the dock reaching for the green light. When Gatsby is close to finally reaching his dream the light is shown brighter. Then, later on in the movie, they show light flicker and slowly go out after Gatsby’s death, showing how he had failed to gain the one thing he desired most, Daisy. Another example is the eyes of Doctor T.J. Eckleberg, the movie makes it more apparent that they represent the eyes of God looking over the corruption and loss of morality in the Valley of Ashes. While reading the book is more in depth, the movie can help the reader to further understand the meanings of these
Imagine someone getting raped and almost killed and the one getting raped is someone you deeply love. What would you have done if that was your little girl. In the “A Time to Kill” by John Grisham, some people would think that Carl Lee did the right thing and everyone knows that they would have done the samething. By him doing that it is showing his love by doing that for his daughter. I am going to prove my thesis with two points in the “A Time to Kill”.
Sound is what brings movies to life, but, not many viewers really notice. A film can be shot with mediocre quality, but, can be intriguing if it has the most effective foley, sound effects, underscore, etc. Sound in movies band together and unfold the meaning of the scenes. When actors are speaking, the dialogue can bring emotion to the audience, or, it can be used as the ambient sound. Music is one of the main things to have when filmmaking. The use of Claudia Gorbman’s Seven Principles of Composition, Mixing and Editing in Classical Film gives audiences a perspective of sound, and, how it can have an impact on them.
