Recommended: Why does driving while drunk effect

Drinking and driving
One year ago I realized that drinking and driving is very dangerous. My cousin Janet had everything that anyone will ever ask for in life, a car, a job, a boyfriend that loved her more than anything else in the whole world, a son and a promising future. All that changed when she decided to drive home from a party after drinking. She fall asleep at the wheel, crashed her car very bad into a ditch. Janet was my role model who I looked up in many ways, she always inspired by how hard she worked, but all that changed in one day. For nearly two months she remained in coma and now she is spending several time in rehabilitation to help he learn basic motor functions such as talking, walking and swallowing . For the rest of her life she will likely suffer from memory loss, dangerous seizures and even impaired speech.
That is just one of the many stories told by family, friends, and victims. Alcohol has a big affect on the way that people drive, drinking and driving is a seriously increasing crisis in the world today, it can turn a person’s life around in just a matter of seconds, but people don’t learn form their mistakes, they know very well that it’s risky but they still so it and that is becoming a major issue in our society today.
Drinking and driving is not a funny thing, it has killed thousands of people and ruined other’s lives. People give the dumbest excuses ever when they are caught drank and driving, but I don’t think there is a single reason why someone will be driving while drunk. People know very well that they are drank and yet they decide to go behind the wheel of a car to make the obvious mistake and end up in a horrible situation, innocent people get killed every single day because of one person’s i...

...ces and actions. Driving is a privilege but some people takes advantage of it while endangering other lives that don’t deserve it.
We all have those friends that make us do things that we don’t want to do, always make the wrong choice, but sometimes we have to be smart enough to know what is right and what is wrong and try to choose the right path that is not going to harm other people. I hope that one day we will learn that drank driving is a terrible mistake, especially teens. Everybody should think about the consequences they are about to face before they go behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol. I also hope one day we won’t have this problem that is destroying lives any more because nobody wants to be responsible for another person’s death to see the people that you love suffer for the rest of their lives because of your irresponsible actions.

The decisions were then broken down into several categories as shown on the graph attached. Little is known as to what leads people to continue to drinking and driving. But as research shows, people do think, prior to drinking, how they will get home. It’s after they have already had been drinking that they decide to get behind the wheel.
