Blame is when you put the cause of an action on someone else. People resort to blame because it is easier to blame someone else for their own actions than owning up for your own. People can also feel less terrible and reduce their guilt on the subject of the blame. Blame is a factor in Romeo and Juliet because throughout the story the characters point out each others actions instead of their own which leads to all the conflicts in the story line. Love and themselves are to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths.

This factor is significant because following the blame on love for their death, they themselves don't know how to handle love and its effects on them. It was shown by when in the middle of the story Romeo proposed to Juliet that they should get married right away so they can be husband and wife. They go to the church and have Friar Lawrence make them official husband and wife, which brings them closer and their love stronger. This is significant because it’s showing what they did with each other that brought their affection for each other to a place that they both couldn't handle and know what to do with the feeling of love. Another example in the story is when Juliet’s mother and the maid tell her that she is going to marry Paris, but she refuses to marry Paris because she is married and in love with Romeo and doesn't know how to deal with the news. This leads to her father becoming very angry and disappointed in Juliet to where he yells at her about how unworthy she is and how she must marry Paris. Juliet feels unloved by her parents which is a cause of why she doesn’t know how to deal with real love from Romeo. Because of this event it leads to her asking Friar Lawrence for a potion to fake her death for Romeo, which leads her to not marrying
