President told them “that you’re either with us or with the terrorist.” The nation’s that are harboring or supporting terrorism will be known as a hostile country’s to the President. The group’s leader name is Usama bin Ladin are linked to other countries that share their organization. They get people from other countries and take them to Afghanistan where kids or adults train in the camps that they have. After the people get done with the learning at the camps they go home or to other countries to plot evil. Usama bin Ladin has a big influence of the people in Afghanistan because they support the Taliban regime which controls most of the country. Many of the Afghanistan people are starving, brutalized, and some of them have fled the country. They only allow men in school because the women are not allowed to attend school. If their people owned a television they would be put in jail for having one in their home. The President told the Muslims throughout the world that “we the people respect your faith and it is practiced by millions of Americans freely.” He also said “the teachings are good and peaceful but those who choose to commit evil in the name of Allan disown the name of Allah.” Terrorists are becoming traitors of their own faith beliefs. Our terror started with the al-Qaida, but will end with them there. It will only end if the whole terrorist group around the world have been found, stopped, and defeated
Lyndon Baines Johnson the 36th President of the United States gave his inaugural address in Washington D.C., on Wednesday, January 20, 1965, to one of the largest crowds in history, approximately 1.2 million Americans. In the shadow of the assassination of John F. Kennedy, LBJ took up the mantle of leadership, while the country was still in a period of mourning the tragic loss and earned the trust and respect of the country to be re-elected in 1965. A speech that lasted just under 22 minutes, reflected his passion and the forward thinking spirit of his desire to transform the country through justice, liberty and union, wage a war against poverty that was facing most of the American population and return the nation to their roots as a model
On September 11, 2001 terrorists crashed two American airline airplanes into Twin Towers, killing thousands of people. It was the worst terrorist attack in American history and it showed us that we are not protected by Atlantic and Pacific. It showed us that we could be attacked by anyone at anytime. It showed us that if we will be attacked again that we can only depend on each other and not on other nations to help us. The 9/11 changed people forever, some lost family members or friends, others lost their jobs even so called “American Dream.”
September 11, 2001 was one of the most devastating and horrific events in the United States history. Americans feeling of a secure nation had been broken. Over 3,000 people and more than 400 police officers and firefighters were killed during the attacks on The World Trade Center and the Pentagon; in New York City and Washington, D.C. Today the term terrorism is known as the unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives (Birzer, Roberson). This term was clearly not defined for the United States for we had partial knowledge and experience with terrorist attacks; until the day September 11, 2001. At that time, President George W. Bush, stated over a televised address from the Oval Office, “Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.” President Bush stood by this statement for the United States was about to retaliate and change the face of the criminal justice system for terrorism.
Todd Beamer was one of the men who took action on Flight 93 during the attack of 9/11. Beamer was one of the passengers on the hijacked Flight 93 American Airlines plane. Todd Beamer was born in Flushing, Michigan on November 24, 1968 (Evensen, 2017, para 1). Through many calls to others on the ground, Beamer and others learned that the airplane they were on, Flight 93, was one of the planes that was being hijacked (Vulliamy, 2001, para 3). The hijackers had already begun to redirect the flight to Washington D.C, and many believe that they were targeting to crash into the White House, or the Capitol (Vulliamy, 2001, para 4). Todd Beamer, along with some others, decided to step up to the hijackers, and regain control of the plane. They managed
William Wilberforce presented his argument May 12,1789 to the British House of Commons. He spoke in regards to his bewilderment of slavery in Britain and he appealed to the audience’s empathy to consider the abolishment of such a dehumanizing act. As he stands before them he is unsure of himself and that he may not be the right person to speak, however with the encouragement and long hours of self-examination he is ready. He will deliver his speech with principle and dignity. He does not want to overstep his boundaries and show bias. He just wants everyone to be open minded and consider his proposal as lawmakers not with one’s personal feelings. The acknowledgement of all that are present of how and why slave trade was permitted, such a horrid

On September 11, 2001, the United States was attacked by terrorists. The terrorists had control of four planes with plans to crash into four different buildings. One of the planes flew into one of the skyscrapers at the World Trade Center in New York City, and soon after another plane flew into the other skyscraper. Another plane flew into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, destroying a part of the building. The fourth plane crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, because passengers had heard of the other attacks and took action by fighting the terrorists and keeping them from reaching their destination. All the planes were full of passengers and the buildings they hit were also full of people. Many American people died on 9/11, that is why it is such a major event in American history, we need to honor those that died because of the attacks and those that died attempting to rescue those that were injured.
The article is actually speaking of a small band of pseudo Muslims called the Taliban. The story of the Taliban is complicated, and just like every other story, there are two sides to it. When the members of the Taliban first revealed themselves, they gave the world the impression that they had come to rid Afghanistan of its problems. At first, even the government of today, recognized the Taliban as a legitimate Afghan force that wanted to rid corruption and disorder. However, as time passed, the true nature of the Taliban was revealed. Soon the Taliban became known as a militia that used a mixture of Kalashnikovs, false Islam, foreign money, and opium to get its way.

When I signed up for ENGL 191 I did not know what to expect as I had never token an English class at the college level. The English classes I was used to be taught at the High School Level and they went like this, Teach them grammar rules then hold their hand with worksheets for every possible step of paper writing all the way from idea generation to submitting the final draft. This arbitrarily cookie cutter process frustrated me as I did not want to write down my sources in MLA format on a note card then paraphrase the source over 10 notecards then paraphrase the note cards onto my draft. Because of the way my English Class were I had an expectation of what was done covered and in an English Class. I figured that college would be similar with allot less handholding and when I signed up for 10 to 11:40 Tuesday, Thursday section I thought that it was going to be an hour and forty minutes of tedious discussion of Grammar Rules and the writing process according to the instructor. After six weeks of ENGL 191 my idea of what English is has completely changed. My new idea of what English is totally different then what I came into the class with. I thought English was teadoius
In his oration to Governor Stevens, Chief Seattle tries to persuade the whites into treating his people with more respect, even though his people are seen as inferior. Through his use of metaphors, religious ethos, and multiple allegories, Chief Seattle is able to show Governor Stevens that the Natives, although minimal in size and numbers, are not powerless.
The Taliban started in 1979, when the Soviet union invaded Afghanistan. The Taliban is a group of Islamic extremist in Afghanistan. The Taliban enforces many laws, they believe that Islam should be followed strictly. They force women to wear long black cloaks and a headscarf, and if the slightest amount of skin is shown the woman will be punished. The Taliban follow a strict version of the Sharia which is a traditional interpretation of the Koran.
The group was lead by Mullah Mohammed Omar, and has destroyed the way the society not only thinks but works. The Taliban had frequently done various sorts of things that changed the mentalities of individuals. For instance, ''Hassan protested again. So they took him to the street..and order him to kneel...and shot him in the back of the head...shot her too. Self-defense, they claimed later.'' (231). This quote implies that citizens who stand up for what they believe in will not be heard but will have extreme force used against them. Moreover, this spends a very negative and inaccurate message to the individuals of Kabul. This outcome causes society to be petrified as they will not only stand up for their loved ones but more importantly themselves. For example, ''The tall Talib with the black sunglasses walked to the pile of stones they had unloaded from the third truck. He picked up a rock and showed it to the crowd...The Talib, looking absurdly like a baseball pitcher on the mound, hurled the stone at the blindfolded man in the hole. It struck the side of his head.'' (284). This quote represents the change in society as the crowd only watched. No one had stood up for what was right thinking it was acceptable for the Taliban to do such considering the violent acts they execute and have completed. Not only have the Taliban brainwashed the citizens of Kabul but are also
