We are facing certain issues that are helping in incorporating physical education in the school curriculum since we have come to the realization of the benefits. Lack of physical activity amongst children when physical activity is required for their well-being we have issues on why physical education is in need now more than ever-in schools. Also recognizing the reasons as to why some schools are now adopting physical education to the curriculum. Although physical education should, become incorporated in schools more due to lack of inactivity it has come, to light about the benefits contributed by physical activity. Still, there was evidence in suggesting why physical activity was beneficial to kids in schools at an early age to adulthood. Some of the benefits that was found to be because of physical activity, it was known to “increase cardiovascular health risk factors, and metabolic health biomarkers, improve bone health, also modern evidence indicates that physical activity helps in benefiting in both mental health and academic achievement” (Piercey, et al, 2015). Even with all the evidence shown it was still difficult on how to enforce the thought of importance of physical education when some schools were realizing the benefits but others were not. High schools were not getting the average required amount of physical activity; however, schools are where the kids spent most of their time so the need to increase physical activity was, recommended, to help apply physical education as well in making sure they were being active instead of just standing around. Nevertheless it was found that “58 % of elementary schools required recess yet that left more than 40% of districts with no recess requirements” (Piercey, et al, 2015). This was reason enough to implement physical education in schools when it came, to the well-being of the kids. Even though physical activity was the important role in making sure, the students were actually living a healthy active lifestyle. However as improvement was being accomplished not all schools were enforcing the physical education installment in the curriculum. In addition we noticed that physical education in primary and middle schools were greatly contributing physical education whilst the high schools were not faring so well since the curriculum had become optional. Moreover, each finding has found that physical activity in the school curriculum had influence in the improvement of the child’s well-being and health. Whether it has been from cardiovascular issues, or mental issue improvements, this evidence helps on reasons why physical education now being, incorporated in school curriculum is beneficial to the kids to come.
