Module 11 Reflection Affective: I enjoyed the topic as it provided a logical way of thinking and going about doing things. Sometimes it can be easy to make quick judgements and try to change things but looking deeper into the system and at the big picture can help us better understand the situation. Systems thinking is an important concept for leaders influencing change as it helps them understand things and better make changes. You must first understand the system to understand the situations and why things are the way they are. I am a fan of logistics and making sense, so using systems thinking allows changes and leadership decisions to be better made. You can understand situations and be a better leader by using systems thinking. I connect with the habits of 1) understanding the big picture 2) Observes how elements within the system change over time, generating patterns and trends and 3) Changes perspectives to increase understanding. These habits are important to me as I generally use these habits and think they can help you better understand a situation or create a change. If you worry about all the little things you can't focus on the big picture items that matter since there won't be enough time and resources. Things change over time, ideas become outdated quickly. I really enjoy "Changes perspectives to increase understanding". When I am looking at situations, I try to see other perspectives, even if I believe I disagree with them. I think it is important to put yourself in other shoes and understand where they are coming from to better understand if your perspective is the same perspective as the masses and to better see the system and problems that need to be
