What are some skills that an individual needs to be successful in a job? Well I say that one needs to be able to have patience, communicate, and have good work ethic is the key. These three skills are important to have when applying for a job or longing to strive in a job. If a person has these three skills they won't just be successful in the workforce but also excel in life. Nowadays it's not very usual for people to have these skills. If employee's have these skills and uses them to their fullest potential then they could even achieve to be employee of the year. Patience is important for employees to have because those who have worked before rather it be at a fast food place, clothing store, daycare, factory, etc. Or basically anyone that works around people daily. They can testify that customers or fellow co-workers aren't always polite and it takes a lot in a person to be patient. Maybe even when surrounded by other fellow employees if one lacks communication then the workforce as a whole won't reach it's full level of success. Kind of like the game telephone if everyone pays attention and listens instead of only hearing what certain people want to hear or only telling people what you feel like telling the phone connection isn't going to work. In all relational issues, communication is not only important, it’s crucial. In the business world, this is no less true. However, many leaders neglect communication. They only lecture. They don’t listen. Of course, this isn’t an example of effective communication and the end result is employees never knowing exactly where they stand. A boss who doesn’t communicate will leave employees wondering about their futures at the company and in turn create an atmosphere of uncertainty within the company.
The ability to talk or write does not mean that communication is taking place. Although these basic principles are taught to school-aged children, the principles are often stunted at this elementary level, and not developed as life-long skills. Adult communication skills are shaped by experiences, perceptions, and emotions, just as many other adult habits are shaped. These irrational standards can be the foundation for miscommunication when used in the workplace. Just as they have negative effects in families and other interpersonal relationships, they also have a negative effect on team building and cohesiveness within the workplace.
As I have noted, I truly believe that the numerous job skills that are needed to be successful include dedication, communication, and adaptation. First of all, you must be devoted to your career if you want exemplary results. Equally important, being able to articulate your ideas, and intellectually communicate said ideas will ensure a successful time at you occupation. Last but not least, in order to be successful in your employment, you must be flexible to the obstacles that are inevitable. I urge you to strive to obtain these essential job skills because they are worthwhile.
The last three traits are designed to keep an employee focused and productive. This makes them hard-working and driven. When looking to hire someone I believe these are the main traits to look for. To be a great employee, it is important to prioritize your work and manage your time well. Do not procrastinate on work, especially when they involve cross department participation.

Before we can improve communication, we must first discuss communication filters. Communication filters are, but not limited to, semantics, emotions, attitudes, role expectations, gender bias, and non-verbal messages. Semantics: the study of the relationship between a word and it?s meaning. Envelope has particular meaning, pretty much everyone knows what an envelope is or would be. Now job satisfaction on the other hand can mean many different things to many different people. This ability of words meaning different things to different people can be a huge problem when communicating.
