Today in the 21st century, people write/type on a device or paper. People are skeptical on whether grammar should be taught or even used. Grammar is relevant in the 21st century because it can assure employment opportunities, it supports communication skills, and it’s essential to be taught in schools. Grammar is essential to be taught in schools. Many educators are thinking about what levels of grammar should be taught in schools. Even though expressing yourself is still good to do, we shouldn’t say grammar is unimportant Grammar is the study of the way sentences of a language are constructed and if students are focusing on expressing themselves how will they be able to write a sentence, essay, or even a college application? They won’t be able to because colleges and employers will be judging them on their grammar rather than what they actually know.
