Imagine starting off your your first year of middle school playing a sport you love. Seventh graders should be able to participate in school sports, it can not only be entertaining it can also help students a lot in everyday life. Students who participate in sports are more likely to gain important psychological benefits. {Having school sports can help students improve their social skills, it can make students more responsible, and school sports can also help with teamwork.} One thing school sports help with is responsibility. With that, they teach kids how to manage time, which is a very important life skill. Students will learn to problem solve, knowing to learn their schedule and when to plan and work things out. Also, they teach how to set priorities, all skills that students will need to know in the near future. This teaches students which things are most important and when they should be completing these tasks to have less stress on them. Last, school sports teach students the responsibility of being part of a team. This shows students how important it is to give your part in the activity to help the team function. As a result, school sports can help students make friends. They will learn how to better communicate with others, which will help them in the future when they might have to give speeches or reports. Also, school sports can teach students to try new things. They will learn to get out of their comfort zone in a safe way, soon figuring out that something they would have never tried they actually really enjoy. Lastly, sports can increase students confidence. Students when making a good play or when their team wins will have that added confidence in themselves to help them succeed and feel more comfortable in everyday life.
