Should School Sports Be Taken Away?
For as many years you can think of school sports has been a huge impact in community and society. Not only is school sports consider a safe home, but it impacts your everyday life skills. Taking away school sports will be meaning you will be taking away how kids can learn how to work together as one. Some may believe of sports just being extracurricular activity when it is more. The things you can get out of playing school sports are community representation, fitness, improved academics, teamwork, cooperation, positive mentors, social relationships, leadership skills, time management and success mindset.
Growing up in a community where there is no motivation to be successful can be stressful. People may not understand but playing sports impact not only the children but also the parents. For parent, it’s a way to know their child is safe especially growing up in a single home where the parents has to work two or more jobs. In 2002, a study took place by the Department of Education that students who did not participated in after school activities forty-nine percent were likely to use drugs and thirty-seven were likely to become teen parents. In 2006, study stated when a female participates in athletics in high school their body weight and mass improves. In 2007, the NFHS found that students’ athlete average a GPA of a 2.84, while students who did not average a 2.68. Athletics students are less likely to miss school.
