Very few people are truly observant. Yet, everyone seeks out what they like. This affects friendships and relationships, because somehow, someway humans want to surround themselves with the people that match their idea of great. Personality, which can be described as the individual’s combination of characteristics and traits, changes throughout the people that one can meet in life. Not to say that people aren’t similar, but each and every one leaves a different footprint along the way. As I looked to see how my personality was viewed by others, I asked my roommate to discuss the things that she saw in me, that maybe I had or hadn’t see.
Throughout my questionnaire she expressed that I was a funny person. That no matter the situation I could insert a bit of humor into it. She even said that funny, was the first thing that popped into her mind if my name was said. She described that my best and most visible quality was honesty, blunt to a fault. I provide different perspective to many contrasting situations that she has learn and is reminded that there is more than one narrative to each story. I’m some who gives advice either, because I been there myself, or had similar experiences. She believes that the effectiveness of my advice goes hand in hand with my psychology background.
She couldn’t see anyone playing me for a movie role, but is she really had to choose I would be Maya Rudolph from Grownups. She noticed that my background, of being a bilingual Hispanic immigrant, greatly affects how I relate to others. That my personality has been shaped and built by the influences I had growing up because of this.
Despite having the kind of friendship we have now, she believes it could have easily been different. Her first impression of me was that I was black, and she expected a very different behavior when she meet me. That I was also reserved and shy, and conversations were going to be
