INTRODUCTION
In life, we come across challenges which serve as experiences that would either make you or break you. They come at unforeseen times and just rearrange everything you know and value. I went through a challenge when I was seventeen, in grade 11 and I learnt a very valuable lesson in my life which to embrace falling down and the art of rising from your downfall. This assignment will reflect on how I went through and dealt with emotional, physical, educational problems which molded my very existence today.

I was a fifteen year old chubby to fat student of a small town high school in the Free State where we had just enough resources to accompany different sporting fields and also other extra mural activities like speech and drama, drawing and singing. I, however, was only interested in joining the book club, which only had three members at the time.
I was constantly compared to my sister as she was the slim and slender one and I the fat one. I joined the netball team. My weight never really bothered me till I was constantly reminded of it at every practice, my coach would say “you are a good wing defense but you need to lose weight that will make you faster at your feet.” I hated her. My mother took me to the gynecologist and she prescribed contraceptive pills which I had to take every day. Three months later, the period pains were almost nonexistent but the headaches were still persistent, so much that I started taking stronger pain pills my skin was getting a pale yellow shade, my urine and the whites of my eyes were yellow. My mother saw the change and the extreme weight loss and kept asking me about it until I eventually told my mother about the headaches and she took me to a doctor in Welkom who took blood and urine tests and upon arrival of the results I was diagnosed with
