Implementing DAPPS: A Roadmap to Achieving Goals

 In reaching a goal, it is not so much the goal that is important as it is the compilation of planned, concise, and well thought-out steps used in fortifying the achievement. In section II-a I stated my personal and professional goals. My plan was to attain the rank of Petty Officer First Class, get selected as Sailor of the Year, and complete my Bachelors in Information Technology. By implementing DAPPS and its Sub-Goals in I will be able to narrow my focus and more specifically the steps needed to reach my goal.

There is not guarantee that I will be selected for SOY and thought it may seem to be an easy task the effort put forth in working towards SOY can be quit stressful as meeting deadlines and managing the workload can be a heavy burden. Never the less with problem-focus-coping, attempting to alleviate stress directly(Myers 2014) such as planning out the workday and setting goals to meet deadlines I can ensure that I will not become over stress and in fact I will be able to minimize my stress or Minimizing my stress or will allow me to work more proficiently and keep me on the right track while building up my perpetrate as a Sailor of the Year candidate GOAL 3: Receiving my Bachelors in Information Technology I have a total of 84 credit remaining before I can receive my bachelors. I plan to complete my bachelors by December 1, 2016. If I continue to work at my current pace I may even be able to complete my degree earlier than anticipated. Unlike my other to goals receive my bachelors will benefit me both within the navy and my personal career once I retire from the service. Additionally receiving my bachelors will give me two more points towards advancement and increasing my chances of becoming a First Class Petty Officer and Sailor of the Year.

I have a bad habit of procrastinating when I am not interest in a certain subject. Ultimately it leads to me having to rush through projects rather than take my time with them. This leads to poor performance and a reduced feeling of self-worth. Since changing my outlook on procrastination and breaking task down into smaller project I am able to establish an internal-locus-of-control. I control my own fate by exhibiting a sense of self control and setting aside impulsive behavior that adversely affect my performance Specific
To meet my goal in 2016 I will take and accumulative amount of class, more specifically three per semester. By taking 3 classes per semester I will by the end of the year have enough credits to receive my bachelors. In addition to completed the classes I must maintain above a 2.0 by naval standards to continue with my education while serving. I current have a 2.00 and am working to improve
