Why was Diana, Princess of Wales remembered as the “People’s Princess”? Throughout Princess Diana’s life, she accomplished many great things that made people love her more and more. The one thing that many will remember her for, is her love for charity work and the passion she had to help others. Princess Diana is known to be a great humanitarian for her passion in charity, and for her desire to help many.

She was born on July 1, 1961, near Sandringham, England as Diana Spencer to her father, Edward John Spencer, a Viscount Althorp, and her mother, Frances Ruth Burke Roche, a Viscountess Althorp. Beings she was much younger, she had been more acquainted with his younger siblings Prince Andrew and Edward. This age difference between Prince Charles and Diana, had made the Prince believe that she was too young for him to have considered marrying; their relationship hadn’t sparked for another three years. Prince Charles and Lady Diana then began a relationship in late 1980, in 1981 they were engaged to be married, and she then finally became Princess Diana of Wales on July 29, 1981. While she had been married to Prince Charles, she had an eating disorder and suffered from depression. Instead of giving into her depression, she had decided to turn toward philanthropy to make her life meaningful again. She believed that if she used her depression in a better way, then she could do more and reach far greater audiences to help dozens of causes.
