Princess Diana of Wales: A Legacy Left Behind
Princess Diana of Wales was a very influential person, whom when she died left behind a legacy. Diana, a role model to many people across the world set a pristine example to all who followed her. Throughout her life, Diana went through many ups and downs, from her fairytale wedding to her lifelong battle with bulimia, and the struggles in her marriage. In contrast to societies idea, of the extraordinary life of a princess, Princess Diana of Wales encountered many obstacles throughout her lifetime.
Princess Diana grew up in Norfolk, a small county in East England. Diana Frances Spencer, daughter of Edward John Spencer and Frances Ruth Burke, later known as honorable Frances Shand Kydd was born on July 1, 1961, into a well-known aristocratic family in Norfolk, England (“Princess Diana”). Diana’s father and mother divorced when Diana was six years old (“Princess Diana”). She was the third child out of four siblings. Two famous quotes of Diana’s are “Anywhere I see suffering, that is where I want to be, doing what I can.” and “Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.” about the charity work she did. Elton John united the world’s feelings of loss in his song “Candle in the Wind,” and though his purpose was generally ineffective, through his use of diction, imagery, and emotional tone he was able to speak for a world that lost its princess.
