Success is defined as reaching the life goal that is set by the individual. The success brought onto any individual is based on the attitude towards the roadblocks that may occur while trying to achieve the goal. Given the choice to be negative about a situation occurred, giving up is the only choice. A positive attitude is the key to success because success effects an individuals educationally, work wise, and socially. Many may say that having a positive attitude toward success will be a set up for failure, but a positive attitude is an incentive to achieve the goal. If individuals had incentive to succeed in life the road blocks will be what is pushing the effort to overcome. For example, a student is positive he knows the material on the test , but once the student receives the test back the grade given is unexpected. If the student had thought negatively about the results , the test would be seen as a failure. But, as time passed after that specific test the student had learned a lesson about how to study for future tests to come. Due to education being a pathway to success, a positive attitude towards education and trying the best possible to pass the courses needed will help the student succeed in the future. In a work environment a positive attitude towards others will help communication with others. When in a work environment having a positive attitude is important because in some field the job is based on that attitude given to a potential client or customer. For example, in a department store the employee has to have a positive attitude towards the customer because the store makes a profit from the amount of items sold. In the occurrence that a employee has a negative attitude towards the customer, the customer may not want to buy from that store anymore.
