Success takes many different definitions. People have different interpretations of what success really means. For me is as simple as: living well and laughing often. The idea of living well is a very broad statement. Living well, in my opinion is getting success in personal, social and professional life. If I can achieve all of these three levels of success, I believe that I have lived well. Personal success for me is being able enjoy little things that life has to offer. For instance; understanding and appreciating diversity. To have someone to love and treasure, to meet the right person, fall in love, and get marry. To feel that I’m able to love my child and pass on wisdom to him .Feeling that someone loves me, is something that makes me completely happy and successful. Because I believe that without love, life is not thoroughly complete, thus never truly achieve success. I believe that, by being mentally and physically healthy, I have achieved personal success. When I get home to see my loving husband, my loved child, and then I’m able to sit down, relax and appreciate life, then I’m successful in my own right. Social success has a lot to do with the natural tendencies that I as human posses. For instance, I have identified good friends that I can count on as well as they can count on me. Meaning that I have good friend where I can rely on. I know that if a need help on anything, there will always be a helping hand. A part of societal success is also to learn how to treat people well, and I have been blessed to have such a great family that has showed me how to treat people since I was a little kid. I consider that I have reached professional success when I’m able to finish any goals that I have set in my mind. It doesn’t necessarily means that I need to have a masters or a doctored on my career. If my goal this year, is to graduate on April 2010, and I’m capable of doing it just the way I set it in my mind, then I have reached professional success, even if it is only my Associates in Art (AA).
Hoosiers once said " If you put your effort and concentration into playing to your own potential, to be the best that you can be. . . in my book we are going to be winners". This quotation is relevant to the question of What does success mean to me? I believe success is about learning what you are capable of to achieve your full potential being successful in your life. For you have a better understanding, I will explain success is about being achievable in your own way and being able to see yourself grow in your personal life and perspective of how you see yourself becoming successful. Success is not only about the choices you make to become successful, but about how you approach the way to become successful.
The definition of success can be different for everyone based on how they percieve the term. To me, success is doing all you can do to try to come out on top. A scenario of this would be during a basketball match, your team is down by 12 points, everyone is running the fastest they can, shooting as accurate as they can, and supporting one another
Success can be an extremely broad subject. There is an abounding amount of different views on what the “true” definition of success is. Personally, I believe that success is finding happiness. Success is waking up in the morning and not having to worry about whether or not the bills are going to be paid this month. Success is having a job that you enjoy going to every day. Success is having friends and family who love and support you. Success does not mean that one has to be exceedingly rich or have a lakeside mansion. As long as they are happy, they have succeeded in life.
As I continue to grow and mature into a young adult, I have begun to realize that the word “Success” can have many different meanings. Depending on the person you’re discussing it with, they may see it differently than you do. The media and society have convinced us into accepting a misleading meaning of how success should be defined. Many people who are rich and seen as successful are often very stressed out and struggling with everyday life. Although, this is something that society often decides to look past because the rich are perceived to be very content and joyful with the way they are living their lives, almost as if they have nothing to worry about because of their success. When talking about success, people need to take into the account that the definition can have a variety of meanings, not only is success displayed from finances, but somebody could be considered successful for other things they do as well.
The American heritage dictionary defines success as, “An event that accomplishes its intended purpose.” The definition certainly looks precise and is theoretically a strong statement. The definition of success varies drastically due to the individual perception in accordance with the situation. Success can be defined in various forms. There might be numerous ways in which an individual gratify them self as being successful. How can one achieve success? To be successful one must achieve all four levels of success i.e. personal, financial, academic and social.
Success has been used by may individuals as a way classify achieving a step higher in life then they are currently positioned. This, however, is vague and does not truly resemble the true meaning of the word. Success is much more than a vague indicator. Despite the general meaning of success, every person perceives success differently. Success can be perceived differently by people of different backgrounds, different intelligence, and different desires.
To many people, success means the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. But what it really means is more than just that; is having a beautiful and amazing family of two boys and one girl, and having the best wife. Also, success means reaching my goals or dreams, like starting my new manufacturing and insurance business and keep working hard because in order to reach things I must be ready to fall and rise up. But like I said, to obtain where I want to be I’ll first need to finish college having my Bachelor in Accounting and start from zero. I never in my life thought that I was going to come this far because of what I lived when I was a little kid.

Achieving personal success is the only way to achieve real happiness and peace with you. Personal success is when someone is liking and accepting who they are. This is the most important level of success. Without this kind of success and self-acceptance it would be hard to succeed in other aspects of
Successful is a simple word, however, the meaning of this word changes quite often. Each person has a different definition of success and that definition can change depending on the situation. Bob Dylan once wrote, “A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do.” This a very broad definition of success and should not be used. Is there someone you know that is wealthy and prominent? Do they demonstrate the characteristics of a successful person in today’s society? Media today has effectively convinced our society into accepting an untrue, even possibly hazardous definition of success. Even though Webster’s dictionary defines success as “achieving wealth, respect, and fame,” the definition of success is different for everyone. Society wants us to accept that having money, having big house, and owning multiple cars is the key to happiness, and henceforth, success. This is a lie; success is not having a large amount of money nor does it have to deal with fame.
Success is something we all wish to achieve and even though we have different definitions of success, we all want to success in different aspects of our lives. For some success, success is attaining an education, others it's getting a good job, for others it's being wealthy, and others to start and own a business while for others it's having a family of our own and seeing our children prosper. We all have different metrics of measuring success and we all have different goals, but it is part of human instinct to want success, to want to succeed in everything we do no matter how small or big. Success gives us a feeling of development and growth, a sense of gratification that we are no longer where we used to be, but rather
