That is a great idea. However, we are talking about the aging community it would pertain to people that are 75 or older. I had a family member of a patient who could not remember her left from her right could barely remember her husband’s name and talking to her she seemed very senile, and she was the driver. I think that the sign would be more for their protection than anything. When 16-year-old starts driving we use decals to inform others that they are new to the road. Why not when there is an elderly person driving they are already doing 20 mph to 30 mph already and when passing the driver you look over what do most drivers yell.
There are approximately 5,400 deaths per year that are linked to distracted driving, and thousands more were injured. (U.S. Department of Labor). Those fatalities are our neighbors, close friends, and even family. How can we prevent this from being so prominent? How can we make the roads a safe place to be again? These questions have many different answers, but many prove to be un-effective. I believe that the best and only way to resolve this issue is to implement tougher laws on cell-phone use in vehicles, and educate our youth to the best of our abilities on the dangers of distracted driving.
When you are shopping for a car, you want to be able to shop for the car that you would want. You want to make sure that it is the right color, that it fits your needs such as if it just for going to and from work or if it going to be for long-term use, the car's mileage (if applicable) and so on. But, every once in a while, you run into that one pushy salesperson that will do anything to make you buy a car at their dealership that very day, even if it means trying to force you into buying th newest and best on the market with a loan attached to it and all of that extra interest. I have had two occassions where this has happened to me. The first when I bought my first newer vehicle and the second when I was with my husband when we were shopping
Hello, today I would like to start off by telling you a story. Three years ago on a trip coming back from Hot Springs, my friend and I were in a car accident. My friend had dozed off, and when I looked up to see what was going on we were in the other lane. We swerved out of the way but still hit the vehicle in front of us. I sustained a broken right leg and two dislocated fingers. My friend and the other driver sustained only minor injuries. I now have a titanium rod in my leg and can’t run long distances. This is something that happens too often. How often have you gotten off work after going to school and taking care of all the daily things that are necessary and you were exhausted? Two or three times a week, maybe more? All of us have things that make us tired. Drowsy driving is dangerous, but it is something preventable. Today, I would like to convince you to not drive while drowsy by stating the problems/dangers of driving while
A. Problem: How many people still do not wear their seat belts and the consequences that come with that.
I am sure that at some point in their life everyone has been in a vehicle behind or near an elderly person. People call slow drivers Grandma, Grandpa, Paps, ect. when being sarcastic. In reality, not all seniors drive slow, but many do. Not all seniors drive carelessly, but many do. Not all seniors drive dangerously, but many do. Not all senior drivers need to have their driving evaluated, but many do. So why do seniors not have to take a mandatory driving test every year? Most are in denial about the risk that they pose when driving; that is the scary part. With increases in statistics of population, accidents, and fatalities, senior drivers pose a real safety threat to themselves and to the people society; luckily, there are signs to look out for when an elder needs get out of the driver's seat and places and ways to help them cope with it.
2.) Yes, I do believe that my home state should have such a law because it's not safe for people with Alzheimer's disease to be on the roads driving. It's not safe, if they do not know where they are going. Many people with Alzheimer's disease, would probably get into car accidents and maybe even die, which is not good. If that law was put into action, then people with Alzheimer's disease would be more safer and their families, would not have to be worrying about them all the time.
“In 2015 there were ten thousand two hundred and sixty five deaths from alcohol impaired crashes in 2015” (Drunk Driving 1 Sc 1). Jessie where did you park? Hello, can you hear me, Jessie? This is not one of your best ideas, give me the keys I’ll drive. No doubt, just from sitting with you for an hour I knew you've had a varied amount of drinks tonight and I'm not letting you drive me anywhere. Secondly, I do not wish for you or me to lose our license over this. However you can hand over the keys and I will drive, as I have said before. As a matter of fact, forget it if you want to be foolish then I’ll take a cab home, see you tomorrow. Little did I know that was the last conversation I would have with her. People who are drunk driving should
Now that you know how texting and driving is affecting our nation, let’s talk about different ways to prevent it from causing deaths.
There is a high percentage of people that spend a majority of their day sitting behind the wheel of a vehicle. Whether it is commuting to work, taking the kids to school, running errands, or simply going out to eat one may feel that their car has become a second home. With so much time spent behind the wheel, drivers become comfortable and incorporate distracting activities while trying to remain focused on the road. Our inability to put our cell phones away while driving is inexcusable. Drivers who choose to use mobile devices are endangering people’s lives and property with associated risks that are not acceptable. No one distracted driver is better than the next. Do to rising accidents

Signs, no matter how well-placed they are and how much information they carry, do someone who is vision impaired no good unless they are in predictable places and can be read by touch. Physical features that people without physical disabilities take for granted can present serious problems for people with different abilities, mostly because their needs haven’t been considered in designing those features. That lack of consideration can also be extended to the ways people with disabilities can be treated when they seek employment, education, or services. I believe everyone with a disability if they can perform such tasks should have every right to apply for jobs and have the same chance as anyone else would have. Making more public spaces and facilities physically accessible for people with disabilities also makes them more accessible for people who may not have disabilities, including families with baby strollers, skateboarders, and bicycle riders.

“The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status, or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we all believe that we are above-average drivers.” - Dave Berry
I would like to take this time to express my strong feelings towards preventing communicable diseases, reducing the risk of noncommunicable disease, and increasing personal safety in your home and your community. Society as a whole today must take steps to improve not only life today, but in the future. The more informed you are about the above mentioned topics; the easier it will be to move forward to improve your life in the future.
Signpost: Though the driver may feel justified in his or her action, this kind of display is most times very dangerous and often will result in damage to either the vehicles, the drivers and nonverbal messages.
