Do people really have freedom? Freedom of speech? Freedom to wear what they want? When people go to certain jobs they have to wear a uniform or a suit. This is also true in school. Some schools make students wear uniforms. Although some people may say that school uniforms help prevent kids from spending time picking out their clothes in the morning, they are wrong because kids will just have fits and not want to put on their uniform because it is not comfortable. There should not be school uniforms because there is evidence that it lowers academic scores, restricts students ' freedom of expression, causes a higher percent of violence at school, and promotes conformity over individuality.

“Spending time and effort implementing uniform policies may detract from more effective efforts to reduce crime in schools and boost student performance¨ (procon). This means that they should not be worrying about uniforms, but the more important issues. . “There is evidence that school uniforms increase violent attacks and lower academic achievement, while there is little evidence that uniforms provide any benefits at all.” (procon) This is saying that uniforms make school not as safe when there is uniforms because there is more violent attacks. “More substantive improvements to public education could be achieved with smaller class sizes, tightened security, increased parental involvement, improved facilities, and other measures. This is saying that there is a lot bigger issues that the school should be focusing on and having uniforms is not going to make a change so why have them. Uniforms increase violent attacks because kids are unhappy with themselves because of what they are wearing. So they decide to take there anger out by being violent to others. Even though proponents of school uniforms might say that school uniforms will help fix the problem. They are wrong because school uniforms can not fix what the students have learned. 30 years from now it won 't matter what you wore or how you 're looked, what will matter is what you learned. So just let them wear whatever they want because it doesn 't
