Here is an interesting fact; Some school districts are tracking their students. In Texas some schools have started making their students wear tags or carry I.D cards. The schools can find or track the students at anytime they want to wherever they are. The trackers cannot be turned off so they are always tracking the students. All it takes to track someone is enter their tracker I.D number code so if someone were to get one of these codes they could then track the student. Schools should never put tracking devices in their students I.D cards because it is an invasion of privacy, It takes away their freedom, and this is a waste of time and resources. At a school in Texas the pilot program of the trackers costs the school $261,000 for one year. If a child were to lose 5 of the trackers and has to buy another one but can’t afford to, but another student who can afford one of these loses one then the price will go way up so the school can get new ones for the students that can’t afford to buy a new tracker. So in a way the more wealthy families are paying for the less fortunate families. Some people think that the benefits outweigh the downfalls, but the resources wasted and the money used to buy the trackers could be used to make improvements to the school building, or for field trips and other curricular items. With the schools invading the students privacy and them going against some students religion, and the schools just wasting all their money on trackers that are unnecessary that money could help the district succeed.
