I was born in one of the most prosperous provinces in China - Zhejiang Province. This province has a long business history and many relatives, including my father and uncle, have been running their own businesses since I was young. Because of the growing environment, I chose business as my college major. I fell in love with this field during my first year in college when I took a marketing class. My professor conducted a company case study in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry based on numerous statistics. I enjoyed detective fictions in my free time because it gave me satisfaction to examine the complicated evidence and figure out the truth. After that class, I realized that a case study is similar to detective fictions because …show more content…
Firstly, I have a solid background in mathematics scoring very high in the mathematics part of the College Entrance Exam, and placed third in the Statistics final test. Secondly, my academic score was on a sharp ascending curve and ranked in the top 3. During my journey of pursuing excellence, I’ve learned how to execute my plan effectively and efficiently. Moreover, since we were assigned personal presentations and group projects in almost every core curriculum, I seized opportunities to hone my abilities in public speaking, communication and team management. I’ll use the Customer Relationship Management class as an example. Our project involved surveying the service quality of a pharmacy chain that’s similar to CVS in the USA. Facing challenges like experimental design and statistical analysis, we worked as a team. Independently we studied statistical analysis software SPSS, and finally our project placed first out of 12 …show more content…

A study area is expected to capture the complexity of a single case, and the methodology which enables this has developed within the social sciences. Such methodology is applied not only in the social sciences, such as psychology, sociology, anthropology, and economics, but also in practice-oriented fields such as environmental studies, social work, education and business studies. In the research will try to capture the essence of case study methodology : firstly, by discussing the notions of “case study” and “case”. Secondly, by tracing its history; and finally, by making explicit its most characteristic features. The notions of “case study” and “case”. There are different ideas about what case study is. If try to find a common denominator that case study researchers (Yin 1994; Merriam 1994; Stake 1995,1998; Miles and Huberman 1994; Gillham 2001) might agree on, it would be something along the following lines: The study should have a “case” which is the object to study. The “case” should, be a complex functioning unit, be investigated in its natural context wit a multitude of methods, and must be contemporary.

As a person who is for the most part uncomfortable with change, it is important that I find ways be a leader in a world that is ever changing. In order to be the best and most prepared leader as possible, it is necessary to be aware of one’s core identity and the values, talents, and strengths that are included in this. Consistent with the indications of Vaill’s term, “permanent white water”, the tendency of the world to change is unavoidable and “continual”. We as leaders must find ways to adapt and acclimate ourselves to these situations. Through the discovery of my core values, talents, leadership style, I will be able to develop an action plan to transform my talents into strengths and use leadership techniques to best accommodate my ambitions.
Leaders will no matter what have an influence on our world. They have missions, dreams and ambition, and with these things they are bound to go far. For leaders, what makes these dreams come true is having strong qualities such as leadership practices, values and strengths. If developed and learned how to use correctly, these are what take leaders to the next level and accomplish great things. In the following paper I will talk about leadership in our ever-changing world, explore my leadership practices, values and strengths as well as elaborate on the goals I have made to challenge myself as a leader.
There are different types of qualitative research design; namely - a case study, action research, ethnography, phenomenology, narrative inquiry and grounded theory (Saunders et al., 2012). The philosophical position of this study of interpretivism supports the case study approach used to investigate the phenomenon under study. A case study design is particularly useful in empirical enquiry investigating in-depth contemporary phenomena, and drawing data from multiple sources for triangulation (Yin, 2014, p. 16 and 17). Yin (2014) emphasises the importance of context in a case study in research design, adding that the advantage of case study research is the fact that the boundary between the phenomenon and the context within which a case is being studied is not always discernible. Importantly, a case study is pertinent to answering the “who”, what”, where”, “how “and “why” research questions in both exploratory and explanatory studies (Saunders et al., 2012; Yin, 2014). The presented study has chosen a case study design to

Often times, I can’t help but wonder what my life would be like if I haven’t been exposed to the world of business; a wonderful career that changed my life completely. I have taken interest in business career because I love calculating numbers and interacting with people; But most importantly, my fascination in business came from my grandfather. He taught me many valuable tips on how to be a successful person, and most certainly how to run a business. He was not only a successful businessman, but also a respected individual. One of the businesses that he owned was a company called “Wu Long Tea Factory”. The main thing that they produce is tea of course, but they also have products such as cakes, candies, and all kinds of stuff. By being the production manager’s assistant of this company, I was able to experience everything that was going on in the factory. Even though that was the background I grew up in, my biggest fascination wasn’t in being a manager in a factory; it was the finance part that got me all excited. Often times I can even see myself sitting in my office and work on clients’ financial profiles and statements. I also took extra math classes and participated in many of the competitions in order to prepare myself to succeed in this particular field. Other things that I also did to get me well prepared are joining school activities, applying internships, and having jobs. I believe that all my hard work will pay off, when I see myself as a successful businessman.
