I have always been good at imagining things in particular, ones where I end up hurt, failing, or dying. Because of this, I was terrified of anything that had the potential to hurt or kill me. One of the things that especially scared me to death were roller coasters. Of course, I could handle a couple of rides. However, anything that went too high and dropped us I could not do. So when I went to an amusement park for the first time in seventh grade I did not want to get on many of the rides. It was not until eleventh grade when I went with a group of my friends to Lake Winnipesaukah that I realized something that my friend told me was completely true. It was a Saturday morning. My father’s company was having their annual party at Lake Winnipesaukah. This year my sister was staying home due to homework. After that we went on a couple rides that did not have any large drops. Then we decided to do a couple of rides that were a lot like the rides that I would normally do at Six Flags. When we finished, we went to the water park and spent some time there swimming and going down the slides. Near the end of the day my friends wanted to go on the Oh Zone. It was the type of ride that took the rider up into the air and then drops the passenger. I was petrified, but I had no choice but to follow. On the way up I kept thinking that something was going to break and we were going to plummet to the ground and die. I kept imagining what it would feel like if something did break and we did fall to our deaths. Forty excruciating seconds after we began, we plummeted toward the ground. I was amazed; we did not die.
