Personal Narrative Essay: The Passinging Of My Grandmother

1413 Words3 Pages

Something that I really struggled with was the passing of my Grandmother. She was a strong woman and an inspiration to everybody in my family. I think that I struggled with it because she was a great human being, I kind of looked up to her a bit, and of course she was part of my family. I think that along with her passing, I struggled with the fact that she died when I thought that she did nothing wrong in her entire life and did not deserve to die. I’m not a doctor, I can’t stop someone from dying like that and I couldn’t have done anything to change the outcome. I didn’t become addicted to meth or anything like that afterwards. I was sad but not enough to do something drastic like that. I think that my actions mainly consisted of processing the fact that I would never see my grandma alive again. I don’t think that I did anything harmful or reckless after that. I don’t even think I missed a day of school. I think any actions that I did or did not take were reasonable. I don’t think that any actions that I might have taken hurt anyone, or that they were bad. Biology
I don’t think that biology played a large piece in my thoughts, feelings, or actions after this event. I felt fine when I was coming home from school, so I wasn’t sick. I wasn’t in a fight or flight situation, I just wasn’t expecting to come home to bad news like this. When they told me I was not totally shocked because I knew she wasn’t doing that well, but I had still hoped she would be okay. I think that the thoughts, feelings, and actions were more important than biology for this.
