I selected this career because I love all kinds of animals and I think that a veterinarian is the right career for me. My aunt is in the ASPCA, and cares for many animals, so I grew up loving nature and having pets. Another reason that I think this is a good career for me is that I wouldn’t mind going into the medical field. I would love to save the lives of animals and help them get better when they are sick. There are a lot of animal jobs out there, but this one stood out to me.When I took my career test, my top two results were trade vocations and arts and culinary. They have a busy schedule, and are working every day of the week to provide animals with the best care and give them life saving operations. Being a vet requires skill, communication, and patience. Most vets work at an emergency center or animal hospital. Veterinary employers are looking for people who could have a full time job. Vets have to dress wounds, test for diseases, perform operations on animals, and when necessary, euthanize them. Other careers similar to a veterinarian include physicians, surgeons, veterinary assistants, and zoologists.There are several requirements you need in order to become a vet. They include a Doctorate, and a DVM(Doctor of Veterinary Medicine). The average national salary for a veterinarian is $88,770 annually. The growth rate is expected to rise 36% from 2010-2020.
