A goal I achieved was when I graduated from high school many years ago. I was the first one in my family to graduate from high school. It was a big accomplishment for me and my mom. Graduating was my goal. I wanted to make my mom proud, life happens I couldn't go to college then but I told myself one day I will full field my dream to have a career. I meet my career advisor at a job fair and am here enrolled to be a medical assistant. My new goal is to work real hard to get the best grades I can possibly get and to have perfect attendance at the end off the medical assistant program. Am going use my time wisely, get all my work done in time and ask for help if I don't understand something.
Today must've been the busiest day I've ever experienced at this office. There were so many patients. They all waited at least 3 hours just to be seen by the doctor. The good thing is the office closed at noon so everyone usually was able to make it their shift at work. I got a lot of experience assisting in extractions. I worked with the same doctor I usually work with. She's very nice to me and always requests me when I come in to assist. I interacted with the hygienist, dental assistants (which were just pre-dental volunteers), and the front desk assistant. Everyone had such a good spirit today. There is a dentist that often acts as a dental assistant, which makes things easier because she teaches us about how to prep for procedures and
I find myself privileged as I am the first generation from my family to complete Bachelor Degree. Therefore, "reaching perfection through adversity" is what inspired my journey of Physician Assistant studies. I am originally from small South-Asian country called Nepal, where I completed my High School education with science major. As a science student, I was always curious to know the cause, symptoms, prevention, and precaution of diseases. Unconsciously, I was trying to pursue medical profession. With a strong desire to help community and undeserved population, I got associated with organizations like: Red Cross and Rotary International during my High School education where I worked as a volunteer. These further strengthen my endeavor to pursue career in medical sector.
Goals give you something to measure yourself against and give you direction. Currently, my main goal is to graduate from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree of science in engineering with a concentration in biomedical engineering. My anticipated time to graduation is five years with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Beyond getting my bachelor’s degree at East Carolina University, I would like to go to medical school and become a doctor focusing on prosthetics. In order to make my goals a reality, I will have to work diligently to remain on track throughout my schooling. Additional goals that I have set for myself are to complete homework assignments by the time they are due, reading assigned material before it is discussed in class, doing well in each of my courses this semester, successfully participating in extracurricular activities, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, getting a position as an engineer, and becoming a leader within both the engineering community and the general community. A world-class engineering student woul...
All my life I have always wanted to be a nurse. Since I was younger I can recall playing with stethocopes. I have four siblings so my parents paying for my education has never been an option for me. That having said I became a Medical Assistant. Becoming a medical assistant has been a great blessing in my life. I have been able to work with patients, while going to school but I am ready to further my education. I want to be able to provide patients with medications, IV's, and many other skills that will put my full knowledge to use. I think that nursing is a great profession because it is a job that is in demand. Nurses can work anywhere ranging from clinics, hospitals, schools, and even jails. This means a lot because if anything occurs
In this assignment, I am tasked with exploring my degree plan and outlining the duties and responsibilities a graduate of my degree plan can expect. This paper will also try to help explain the education required to move forward with this career. I will also be looking into and detailing the specific personality traits one would need in this profession, as well as my own personal career goals. Within the course of this paper I am hoping to gain some more knowledge about my future plans and current strategies.
I have always known that I wanted to help people and make an impact on other’s lives since I was young, but it took some time to realize that nursing was how I wanted to fulfill that passion. My dream to become a nurse came about during my last year and a half of college, which I can also say has been the most significant time period in my life so far. The first few years of college before this turning point reflects me as someone who was confused and in search of a purpose.
A goal of mine is to get accepted in to National Honors Society. I will reach this goal by getting all my work done and studying a lot. Something the board of NHS looks at when you apply is if you have a number of volunteer hours. I hope to get at least 70 before my junior year. In order to get 70, I will use my free time to help teachers or students get jobs done. Another goal would be valedictorian. If I can work hard on every assignment and study for every test to reach at least a 4.0 GPA, I know I will be one of the valedictorians. One last goal would be receiving at least 3 varsity letters from the sports I play. I can get 3 by being a leader on these
Today was a lot more exciting than Tuesday, we had a good number of patients scheduled for different things. I went on both sides of the operatory and saw more interesting stuff on Dr. Williams side. The dental assistant was taking some impressions for a full set of dentures and basically showed me everything that needed to be done for the full set of dentures to be made. The next patient was a doctor and he could not hear for nothing. So, the whole time me and the hygienist was talking he could not hear anything we had to say. At the very end after he was all done, he looked up at the hygienist and said were you guys talking crap about me. I was like no sir we were not. The next patient on the assistant’s side just came in for Invisalign impressions
I have been taking Nursing Assistant classes full-time this year through Eastern Arizona College. Apart of the process includes a clinical trial. Four Saturdays of this semester I shadowed Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) at our local Nursing Facility, Haven of Safford. These clinicals are for the length of a ten hour period. I have the opportunity to observe and assist the CNAs as they accomplish their daily workload. A few of the tasks that need to be accomplished daily include waking up and providing care for the residents, showering the resident, feeding the resident, and assisting them with any other personal needs. Clinicals have been something I have come to enjoy. I have loved interacting with the people in the facility, and helping
In addition, I also learned that to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner, I must earn a master’s degree from an accredited program as well as already obtain a registered nursing (RN) license. Typical duties of a nurse practitioner include diagnosing various health problems, ordering diagnostic tests and evaluating patient’s reactions to medication. One of the chief duties of a nurse practitioner is to focus on patient-centered care, which is understanding a patient’s concerns and lifestyle before choosing a course of action. Most nurse practitioner medium rate is $107,460 a year with a job outlook of 31 percent. Since there is an increase amount of old age baby boomers there is a high demand for nurse practitioner. In brief, I also learn
My duties as an aide were to, obtained positions of increased responsibilities for clients assigned by agency. Perform a variety of duties as requested by client's, such as; obtaining household supplies and running errands.
As a child, my dream was to be a doctor someday. I like how doctors heal those who are sick and I like seeing operations. But one fun fact is that I hate blood. Even on small bruises, I tend to get disgusted. But that dream only lasted in a short span of time. I get to know a profession called Accountant. At those times, I really liked numbers, I loved solving basic mathematical operations.
As I was growing up in Utah, I had a fascination of becoming a nurse that wore a white hat and helped in surgery like the characters in the hit T.V. show M*A*S*H*. I was fascinated with their abilities to help the wounded in the Korean War. I would stay up past our household’s normal bed time hour of 9 P.M. to watch the half hour episode with my mom about 2-3 times a week. Not only was the thought of becoming a nurse so appealing, but the thought of being in a foreign country during a war, helping people who were hurt, was very compelling to me. Mary T. Sarnecky, Ph.D, stated that over the three year course of the U.S.A.s involvement in the war, 1950-1953, the number of Army Nurse Corps officers involved in the action of the Korean War estimated
Performing a professional development plan is something new for me, but i took it as a challenge that will help me achieve my goals, it will also help plan my ideas and future plans. I have found it very difficult to find work as a nurse in this country for not having, neither the experience nor the license in the state of FL. It had been a long time since I finished my studies and unable to find work as a nurse I gave up, stop looking and did not want to go back to school so soon. At the insistence of my mother and with the support of my family I decided to go back to school and finally start my baccalaureate so that I can open new doors and hopefully have a better job opportunity. I hope these two years pass quickly to achieve
My goal is to go to college and then have a career. It 's a goal that probably a lot of people have,
