my personal stance 1 my personal stance 4 My Personal Stance Jason S. Eadens Benedictine University My Personal Stance I guess one of the hardest things to write, is a reflection on yourself. In the class, Human Dignity/ Common Good I have had the chance to reflect on myself, and see the room where improvement needs to be made. Over the course we have gotten a chance to find our top 5 strengths, understand multicultural awareness, stewardship and Humble Inquiry. To look at how I can put this class to better use in myself is no small task. First, I want to say that when I took the quiz to find out my top 5 strengths I was not surprised. It was kind of funny to read them off the screen the first time; I was like duh I know that, that describes The test came back that I was a strong Relator. I find that kind of shocking because the thing I am finding as my weakness is relating to my wife. This is why I am personally going to marriage counseling to seek help relating to her. However, I do find it easier to relate to people at work or in a business environment. Even though I see Relator as a weakness and a strength, my marriage counselor has told me that it is not that relating is not my strength, but I have to get more in depth with my emotions to relate to my wife. Emotions is my wife strength and I have a hard time relating to that because I truly do not always understand her emotions, which makes her feel disconnected from me. In this course I have learned a lot, but unfortunately I am still stuck with the National Obsession of fixing what is wrong(Soar With Your Strengths Hardcover – September 1, 1992, 1992). See my marriage means more to me than anything! I cannot cut my wife off and focus on my strengths to make them standout when my weakness is causing my marriage to suffer. Therefore, I am doing my best to work on my weakness with my wife mostly everyday while keeping my strengths in check and not forgetting about
