Did you know that lions, leopards, elephants and buffalo can all be found roaming free throughout Kenya? It has some of the most beautiful cities in the world which are frequented by many visitors, not just because of its beauty but also for business opportunities. Kenya is an interesting country because of its location, place, human-environment interaction, movement, and the region.

A very important thing to learn about the country of Kenya is where it is located.

The recent rising global temperatures are causing farmers to not be able to plant and grow crops like they could before. Author, Jessica Leber, adds, “Experts predict climate change will increase Kenya's already tough food security challenges. Its small landholding farmers feed most of the country and also make up most of its very poor population”. Kenyans have also cut down trees in order sell firewood and moved into cities in desperate search for work so they can provide food for themselves and family. Farmers are working with what they can and are diversifying their crops by planting more drought-tolerant grains such as peas and beans. Small businesses are also making an income that isn't connected to the rain cycles. For example, one-thousand-dollars was loaned to groups of women who have started businesses to produce food. “The bank's loans helped families pay for emergency health care and food purchases during the drought.”, according to, www.scientificamerican.com. Kenyans for instance, need a quick form of transportation so they can easily get where they need to go and they also have many types of transportation they can use. One form of movement is Matatu which is transportation the African way. Matatus are privately owned, public minibuses painted with colors of the rainbow. Www.kenya-advisor.com describes a Matatu by saying, “Matatu mean, for three, in Swahili. Originally the fare was 3 shillings. Today, you pay 25 shillings for as far as you want to go. They used to drive recklessly, but since stricter government regulations they have improved considerably.” Kenyan products also get exported around the world. They also import different products in order to make money and have the necessities and essential items they need. Kenya's exports are horticultural products and tea.
