Technology is nothing. Technology, in itself, is neither good nor bad. Technology is neither right nor wrong. Technology is simply whatever someone makes it be. How technology becomes good or bad depends on the use of it. Or in a lot of cases, how much of it is used. In the case of America’s society, there is often an overuse of technology. Instead of using technology to help, often times, we let it do all the work. The American society is infatuated with technological devices. There is an overuseage of cell phones and other devices from parents and children alike. An overuse of cell phones and other technological devices have a negative impact on society as a whole.

Society has factaully become more and more inactive throughout the years as a result of the overuse of technology. With the advancement in today’s technology compared to the technology generations ago, it is easy to understand the increased amount of time and money spent on technology. Since technology advances rapidly, using simple reasoning, it is easy to see that within the next fifty years there will be many more new and useful gadgets to take up people’s time. While it would not be smart or reasonable to stop advancements in technology, people are going to have to figure out a better way limit the amount of time spent technological devices, or problems such as obesity will continue to be a bigger and bigger problem. Since 1965, obesity has risen by 20% nationwide. There are more factors that contribute to this rise in obesity, such as more processed food consumed and more chemicals ingested into foods, but another contributing factor is the decrease in activity and the increase in technological useage
