I interviewed Quang Le. She is working in the beauty industry. Le is the owner and also a nail technician at Da-Vi Nails in York, Pennsylvania. I met Le in early November 2015 through her co-worker, my sister. We keep in touch through text message until I was able to meet with her during Thanksgiving break. Le has worked as a nail technician for almost nine years and has opened her own shop for five years. She told me that she get involves in this field when she first came to the United States 9 years ago, by a friend of her mom, who introduced her to the field. To become a technician, she first had to go to a beauty school for about three months. Then she had to take a written test and a technical test to get a license. According to Le, personal qualities that one should have to be successful in this industry are patience, outgoing, and creative. I interviewed my father, Ronald Paul, and he is a US Repair Center Supervisor because he works at the only center in the US that gives equipment to the 48 continental states, not supplied to Alaska and Hawaii. He works for The Nielsen Company and creates assignments for technicians such as testing a piece of equipment for the day, a couple of days, or the whole week to be sent to the analyst’s home to be analyzed.
