This paper is about the life of Leonardo da Vinci and his adventures. Not only his adventures but the things he did while he grew up to be the inventor, painter, creator, etc. Some Things he did invent were the Giant Crossbow which was mainly built to scare the enemy from fighting. Another one was the Armoured Car, this car was the tank back then. It had cannons facing all directions making it hard to destroy. On top of that the Armoured Car had a metal shield that was faced at an angle to make it harder for projectiles to penetrate it. Some other things Leonardo da Vinci made were the 33 Barrel Organ, Triple Barrel Cannon, Parachute, Scuba Gear, Clock, Bridges, etc. At the end of his life he left to Rome where he did mostly mathematical studies …show more content…

He was born in a farmhouse in Italy. He was born to illegitimate parents, meaning they were not married when they had him. There names were Ser Piero da Vinci and Catherine, a local women. Other than that nothing is really known much about him growing up, but when he was fifteen he was apprenticed him to Andrea del Verrocchio. Verrocchio was an amazing sculpture, painter, goldsmith, and an incredible craftsman. This helped Leonardo grow up to what he was. Leonardo grew up and set up his own studio in 1478, he was working on a lot of things but one that was not finished was “The Magi” altarpiece, this was due to the fact he had left Florence in 1482 because he had accepted the post of court artist to the Duke of Milan. Leonardo presented himself to the Duke of Milan as a skilled craftsman, but particularly told him about his military engineering. His first painting was the “Virgin of the Rocks”. The painting was of a the Holy Family in a cave and symbolized respect and tradition. Once commented that artists should practice drawing at dusk in courtyards with walls painted black. In 1499 the Milan government was overthrown by the French, so he left to Venice. This was only for a brief amount of time. This is the period of time where he had completed more project then he had in any other point of his life. Some of his creations are quite amazing at that time and period. One of which was called the Flying Machine, this machine was obviously inspired by flying animals. Leonardo da Vinci’s flying machine had a wingspan of about thirty three feet, and the frame was to be made of pine covered in raw silk to create a light but sturdy membrane. The pilot in the machine would lie face down in the center of the machine. The pilot would have to pedal the machine in order for it to move.
