Sometimes in life you have to do things that you personally don’t want to go through with. Putting down a beloved pet is one of those things. They are part of your family and become a big part of your life so when you do it is a rush of many different feelining like sadness, regret, and hope for new things.
Pluto was a very special dog. He was a large American Bulldog with thick brindle marked fur and a smooshed in bully face, he was also a big baby. When I got him, he was only ten months old and he was a very untrained dog that wanted to do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted. Some of that included lymes disease. If not treated it can get really serious and cause muscles and tendons to weaken immensely and that is exactly what happened. He had two torn ACL's that the vet attributed to the lymes, along with arthritis in most of his joints. It gradually got worse and worse over time to the point to where he would cry and bark all night because of the pain he was in. He would always be limping, but even with all the pain he was still a really happy dog. More towards the end of his life he visited the vet a few times a week and they were watching him get worse with every visit. They suggested that we do put him down because he was only getting worse even with all the medication he was on. Starting about two days before we put him down he had the time of his life and was able to do everything a normal dog couldn’t do due to it would have negative long-term effects for dogs. We took him out for ice cream, he got cotton candy and chocolate flavored. He got to try all different types of candy and fast food; boy was he a happy dog while eating all that. He went swimming and running and so many other wonderful things that he enjoyed. When the time came it was a very quiet car ride there, he sat on my lap the whole was and was super excited because he loves car rides. We kept him outside the vet's office in the grass until it
