In recent years, more people around the world have begun to recognize the importance of wellness – a trend which has seen the value of the industry increase year-on-year. Another segment of the wellness industry is wellness tourism. Wellness tourists are those traveling within their own country or to other parts of the world in order to carry out activities which may help them to improve their quality of life (Statista, 2015). Travelers who have experienced wellness tourism emphasize its positive effects on the mind, its ability to reduce stress and its promotion of physical health (Tourism, Medical Tourism, 2015). Tourism has become a popular global leisure activity. Tourism is one of the world's largest industries and one of its fastest growing economic sectors. Medical tourism is becoming popular, with more people searching for less expensive medication and treatment in other countries. However aside from getting medical treatments, people also go sightseeing to take advantage of the costly trip (Medical Tourism, 2014)
