In the 21st century, cities that have strip clubs may have a rare but increasingly more common occupational license for exotic dancers. This paper seeks to understand the economic effects and other regulatory effects it may have on those in the industry. There are many different regulations and laws that govern strip clubs, and they vary by city and state. Frequently, strip clubs that are located in communities that are hostile to their presence face increased regulations to constrain the business and their alleged secondary effects. Methodology: The unit of analysis is the number of cities that have strip clubs; 604 strip clubs are included in this study and are identified using the Online Exotic Dancer Community Forum, www.stripperweb.com. The dependent variables are the number of clubs in a city, and the independent variables are the population of the city which uses data from the US Census Bureau; whether they require a license or not, and the total cost of that license is found through the individual cities website or identified through the Online Exotic Dancer
