n my current role as the Project Coordinator for the California Business Connect Project (CBC), I plan, schedule, and calendar all my tasks using Microsoft Outlook Task Manager. I use this tool to create to do lists, set deadlines, set reminders, and schedule focus time to ensure that all tasks and assignments receive appropriate attention. To ensure that important details aren’t overlooked, I reference policy and procedures manuals and I proofread my work for errors or omissions. In my current role, my responsibilities scheduling meetings, reserving conference rooms and reviewing job bulletins to ensure application screening matrices support manager’s desired qualifications. I have job shadowed the CBC analysts who are developing the LLC Formation Proof of Concept form using an automation platform, called Think Smart. Through this experience, I have gained knowledge on how these analysts work through the process of discovering, analyzing, defining and documenting requirements. In my current role, I use Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio Professional 2016. Most recently, my experience with Visio provided me an opportunity to create the Business Programs Division Supervisor/Manager Communication chart. The purpose of this chart was to improve the line of communication between supervisors and managers in all units. I created a chart and submitted it to my manager for approval. The effects of color help to understand how audiences may perceive visuals used in business communication. The use of color has become more prevalent in business as the costs of including color graphics has decreased. Color is often used in business communication to represent categories. Some examples would be charts and presentations. A summary of empirical studies on the effects of color by The Program of Research for Investigating Management Information Systems was reviewed in this article. The studies show significant time improvements in business related activities when color was utilized.
