There are numerous amounts of inventions, especially when talking about the United States. Over the centuries, society has begun to use more and more technology. The U.S. has produced amazing inventions, but I see the telephone, the automobile, the airplane, and even the computer as the most important inventions. In order to ranks these inventions one must look at how they benefit communication, society, and how the world functions with it. Technology has been the answer for civilization for quite a while. It would be nearly impossible for this current society to function without technology due to the ongoing advancements. The difference between the automobile and the airplane is that the airplane is able to travel to the greatest distances. It replaced how people would go to other parts of the world. That is why I see this invention really to be another top invention due to how it benefited the society and the world. “If you are from another country, you can use products and food made in your country without traveling to that country” (Sridharan 6). This shows the importance of the airplane. It is something that has truly brought the world together, since we are able to now travel to more places and learn about even more things. The way it benefited the society was how America invented a faster way to get more imported goods. Airplanes are not only just a way to travel, but also another way to get something. Before the airplane, ships took months and even years to send something that is very easy to get in today’s society. The airplane was able to replace this method, and now society can get something from half way across the world in a matter of days. This technology is breathtaking due to how far it really advanced. The airplane has its few benefits in communication as well. “The airplane has brought us closer together to people, friends, and family far away” (Sridharan 6). Realizing what the airplane does for people, one can say it is a benefit to communication. Now people are able to places that have an immense distance from where they are.
