THE HERO’S JOURNEY

I think Ada Lovelace is psychic, she once said ”That brain of mine is something more than merely mortal, as time will show.” for me it saying she knew her mind was like no mortal after all was rumored to have created the first computer algorithm. Ada Lovelace was lot in the footnotes of history, but now is more well known than ever, she and Percy Jackson both follow the hero’s journey, a journey every hero is supposed to do in their quest. Although they are very different Ada Lovelace and Percy Jackson have a similar hero’s journey to where they are now.

Ada Lovelace is a hero because without her we may have never had computers the way we have them today. According to biography.com Ada was said to have made the first algorithm of all time. “In her notes, Ada described how codes could be created for the device to handle letters and symbols along with numbers. In chapter 1 of Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, it states “I’m 12 years old. Until a few months ago, I was a boarding student at Yancy Academy, a private school for troubled kids up in upstate New York”. According to “The Hero’s Journey” Percy is following “The Ordinary World” part of it.

Percy and Ada are so different but they both follow the same journey to success. Ada had to translate super long article to English and left footnotes that were 3 times as long as the article, Percy was an ordinary kid in an ordinary world, New York.
