A Reflection on My Writing Improvement My first semester of college writing classes taught me the importance of perspicacious writing and revising. I believe writing to be a method of improving one’s caliber of communication skills, as well as developing the ability to rhetorically analyze an argument or particular perspective. Strictly interconnected to writing, is the strength of revising. Having an ability to revise and correct a simple written literature makes the biggest difference in influencing one’s audience.

Dear Professor Davidson & Fellow Classmates,

I would like to acknowledge the improvements I have made in my writing and revising skills this semester. This class has been beneficial to me in sparking a flare of curiosity and interest in writing. Learning how to take nearly any topic and being able to analyze and write about it rhetorically and critically has made me want to learn more about this world, and how to be open to any perspective. While sometimes a struggle, I would try my best to complete my assignments timely and completely. However, my written assignments have helped me to improve more than reading from the textbook. According to my paper grades in comparison to my test grades, I have noted that my overall writing and revising improvement is due to practice, rather than observation. This has also brought to my mind that it is personally more challenging for me to start a written piece than it is to revise. Writing my analysis paper was extremely difficult, as every topic I found seemed rather boring. Despite this obstacle, I reminded myself that to be a great writer, I must be able to take any topic and produce a piece that is interesting for the
